Oh wow this is amazing. We have something like this for internal squadron use that relies on moose but it’s convoluted to use and can cause quite a bit of lag. This on the other hand looks slick. Amazing work by the community ![]()
Do you think the name “Olympus” might be a nod towards “Zeus” in ARMA? Sure sounds like something very close.
Arma 3 sure set a gold standard with Zeus/3den. The ability to create scenarios and edit battlefields in 3D, in real-time with an excellent and user friendly GUI is really something every game should have.

…and if this is anything like my NFL prediction’s…it will be totally wrong and utter nonsense !!!
The only reason that makes sense is because I will be going on vacation then and will have no way of playing.
Unlikely, but I wouldn’t mind at all if you were right!
only things you are missing is the Kola map and dynamic campaign
… like @schurem would love to see this, but I think it will be next year now
Rats!!! I knew I forgot Something!!! ![]()

Trivia - Thursday is the 32nd anniversary of the release of Falcon 3.0 by Spectrum Holobyte.
I can’t believe it’s been that long. I remember fighting with the 5.25" floppies and finally giving up and going back to the store to get the 3.5" (later finding out online the installer on the 5.25" was bugged so it failed for almost EVERYONE).
I remember endless days of bootdisk editing.
When this comes I always remember playing it (version 1?) in FOUR-colors on an intel 8086? CPU I think it was. I was hooked.
I’m not the only older dude here! Cool! I remember the computer store guy telling me that I might need a math coprocessor to run the game and me thinking “what in the heck is that?”
You do remember correctly. The four colors grafic adapter was called CGA and yup, Idid have some old games like that on my XT PS2/model 50…

As a young soldier, December 1991 is right about the time I was about to start our annual Christmas Stand-Down.
If I wasn’t in the field there was only one thing I was interested in and if Santa had bought me a copy of Falcon 3.0 instead of what I was really wishing for… I would have shoved those ‘floppies’ right up that fat [BLEEEP] arse ![]()
Fast forward 32 years. Not tonight honey I have to fly a (F-16) Wild Weasel mission (in DCS).
Edit: Umm, is Discobot on vacation? If so can a mod make my post SFW?
@Discobot fortune
Leave it to the Aussie break the naughty language filter…
@DISCOBOT!!!
Getting your enclosure polished again?
This is your job!
Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.
Well, obviously not what you’re supposed to do, that’s for sure.
Monday, 11 December marks the 25th anniversary of Falcon 4.0’s release. ![]()
