Oof that’s a lot of hours, I couldn’t imagine working that much. 36h-40h weeks are normal in Germany for a full time job and some fields are down to 32 hours. If you run your own company it’s another story of course.

Christ. That takes me up to Wednesday most weeks. I really need to get a normal job 
I agree about the realism thing totally. I need the enemy, 5 miles away and coming straight at me or I’ve just not got the time.
I find myself following what @schurem does for fun these days, a quick 30 mins dogfight and then bed for zen purposes

Ouch. Lot of time there. The last several years I was cranking out ~14 -16 hours each workday, except when I had to be ‘in charge’ on the over-night shift once a week or so.
When I finally hung it up I kind of went a little stir-crazy - with all this time on my hands.

Is there any such thing these days?
A lot of people under the age of 30 are working a ‘normal’ plus a gig job just to afford rent and food.
My brother works in an office and 40-50 hour weeks are the norm for him. Time-in-lieu instead of paid overtime and there is a maximum number of hours he can accrue, not that he ever has a chance to use it.
During COVID and (compulsory) working from home he was fielding calls or texts at stupid hours…I’m talking 1am
He has had some revenge though. He and his colleagues were ordered back to the office a while ago but Australia has just enacted ‘right to disconnect’ laws. He now turns his work cell phone off on weekends and during the week when he leaves in the evening until he arrives at work next morning.

While we are all technically on call back at work in event of some kind of major emergency, I am not paid/compensated to be available so I make a point of not being. During 2020 when we were working mandatory 12 on/12 offs for weeks I kept a can of beer in the center console of my car. If they had tried to call me back in, I was going to pull over and shotgun it on the side of the road while I called the wife to come get me. We can’t work for 8 hours after we drink. They were intentionally not putting us on official call back to save on the cost.
These days I am prepared to do something similar if my work phone goes off when I’m off. There’s a process to follow if you want me to be available at all hours, if they’re not going to follow it, then I’m not going to be.

as a quick note … I recall Wags saying they were aiming for 3 month intervals for the release of the parts of the Afgan map … shouldn’t that be getting close now
