Yes, but I recently had to download MSFS and most of the World Updates for the Christmas flightā€¦ Iā€™m never complaining about DCSā€™ installed size again! :joy:

On my old I7 6700K, 4Core CPU (32GM 2600 RAM) my latest mission generator (or the code path Iā€™ve been testing for a couple of weeks) is running smoother. Iā€™ve run this specific path numerous times, often trying to ā€˜optimizeā€™ the load, if you willā€¦

NOTE: This is all done in 2D at 2560x1440 window; this PC is just for ā€˜workā€™ :slight_smile:

I am seeing improvement here!

Before
With ~99-104 groups (static, aircraft, ground groups, etc) roughly 150+ individual units (not counting at that level right now)[1]:

80-120 FPS and it jumped around between those values so fast if was hard to get a fix on the ā€˜averageā€™.

Now
150-180 FPS with a lot less ā€˜jumping aroundā€™ in the numbers.

Still show Cpu limited but its bouncing off that and Gpu limited (before it was locked on Cpu limited) so, more better?

Harder test. Not a great deal of improvement in the FPS but it is smoother (the notchies in the above window arenā€™t as severe). Feels like itā€™s back where it was a while ago - last few updates havenā€™t been great for me.

[1] The number of groups varies as you move around the map, the entire map (except places I dont think youā€™ll ever fly to).

Oh, so thatā€™s not just a Utah thing? Good to know! Iā€™ve never understood the mentality of demanding a premium product for economy rates.

Man all the updates and additions to Syria. Urga continuing to prove that Syria is the most solid terrain purchase one can make in DCS. Honestly one of the best third party devs currently out there for this game IMHO. Though it should be stated that a lot of devs have come a long way in the last year or two.

I donā€™t know about that part. I find the more time I spend doing specific tasks in DCS like decision making, communicating, and basic mental math, the better and faster I get at real-world decision making, communicating, and mental math.

I dont know if anyone else has been experiencing extremely long load times lately, even on an M2 drive, but excluding my DCS folder from Windows Defender fixed it.

I exclude all my Steam/common folders and DCSā€™ folder from real time scanning because it can be a real bear, yeah.

Are the DCS forums getting DDoSā€™d again? Since last night they got kinda slow. This morning I tried to file a bug report and had very slow loading, followed by a ā€œtoo many connectionsā€ error when I tried to post, and now the forums wonā€™t load at all.

They were fine on mobile an hour agoā€¦

Still seem fine on mobile now?

Back up now, but was knocked out for me for about an hour or so.

Might be part of a larger attack ??
The Internet Archive has been taken down due to multiple a DDOS attacks. At a minimum it will be down for the next few days according to their posts on their X account and a couple of others.

Over the summer the forums/website got DDOSā€™ed when the CH-47 release was delayed too, which is why my mind immediately went that route. The connection error still crops up from time to time after clicking a forum thread or something.
