A typical day at the Hornet Office :coffee:

Currently rigging a MiG-21MF for the Vietnam War Vessels mod, the video shows test results from yesterday. By now I’ve changed the IR missiles on the MiG and removed the counter measures, so it’s more lopsided for the US side with the 4 F-4 and 4 F-8. Still looking for a pilot figure and some idea what the performance difference between the MiG-21bis and the MiG-21MF are… any ideas/infos welcome!

The one day I didn’t load heaters…not that it matters since dots only become identifiable aircraft within 500ft.

The missiles both tracked and hit, yet the target lived. Nice! Stalinium armoured Gecko?

ED recently posted this video on their socials. It’s a tribute by a friend of our late Mudspike community friend, @RedBravo65 .

Read the video caption as well.

I wasn’t expecting that to hit me as hard as it did.
Godspeed @RedBravo65 and a cheers to all my friends here, whether we met already or not.

Oh no. I didn’t know. Blue skies @RedBravo65. A beautiful tribute.

That was a really touching tribute, I can’t believe it is a year since he passed.

It was his Flying Circus videos that convinced me to get IL-2.

That was quite relaxing. How does one get those camera angles?

Standard F1 view, RCtrl+Shft+numpad for positioning. To get placement this far forward/behind you probably need to edit the 6dof limits in a lua file, but I don’t recall editing them for the Viper.

The head movements for ED modules are all recorded and played back even if you move the head position in F1 view now, which is awesome, but I think for this kind of filming it only works for the Viper. In the Hornet the head stays still. Some modules you’re headless, too, so not sure which ones specifically have this kind of recording ability at the moment.

Thank you, good sir. :+1:

I record videos for my eldest brother who used to be a GA pilot. He misses flying but loves watching aviation and simulation videos. My videos have been vanilla and I think I’ll now be able to add some toppings to them.

Recently, Mr. Goodnite has been posting some cool asset builds of Afghanistan and other DCS terrain FOBs, as well as making them available for download on the DCS user files section.

This one uses the SAM Asset Pack (beta), linked in the video’s description. Lot’s of really cool assets in that pack.

A step by step FOB build…
