… but there’s also the newer Echo model called ‘Guardian’
and even newer Foxtrot version (still concept?) … so I’m not sure if it has FCR it’s still ‘Longbow’ …

No! Missed my point, you did!
That Rotor puck is a dead giveaway and is the easiest way to identify a Longbow.
A dog barks, but not every animal that barks is a dog…
If it rains, the car is wet. But a wet car does not mean it rains…
Upturned A and upturned E made formal logic classes so much harder than they should be
Well… The E is a D Block III. It still carries the Longbow FCR and Longbow Hellfire.
They just call the E Guardian.
It’s the FCR and that Hellfire version, or rather the ability to lug it all around on the airframe that ”makes” it a Longbow, no?
Viggen designations are so much easier to understand!
AH-64D is named after the Longbow FCR Yes, But Powerplant, Networking, and Supporting systems upgrades are also part of that upgrade. It’s simply the name chosen, it does not signify capability.
You can remove the FCR Dome from an AH-64D, and it’s still a AH-64D, Not all the units in a flight require the FCR, one or 2 can use FCR, and send the data to other AH-64Ds via the Network.
Yes.
I know that the FCR isn’t the only part of the Longbow upgrade, but it sure tells you that the Apache hanging below it, must be a Longbow (or now a Guardian).
Thats from Bardufoss, where I went to flightschool!
Englishmen don’t know the difference between a puck and a ball…!
Yes, we are not big ice hockey fans here
Hope you had a good set of thermals
Lots of mountainwaves!
gaurdian has the new rotors…
sounds a little different
Sure, but if the Apache has a FCR ontop it’s either a Longbow or now a Guardian.
I tried to counter those who make a point of the FCR not making the D a Longbow. No, it doesn’t, but it sits ontop of one. Or now, a Guardian.
Anyway, I rest my case.
