DCS Eurofighter? DCS Eurofighter!

It’s not either or, but and. Love that logic. Got plenty room in my virtual hangar

Well of corse it’s not either-or fur us on the buying end, it is both

My point is that the latest offerings are MFD-Monsters (F-16, JF-17 and this) - nothing that takes us back to the mid-years of the jet age. I would love to do some MP now that I’ve got VR, but my mighty MiG-19 or even spritely MiG-21won’t last 1 minute up against 4th Gen fighters…heck, I have a hard time against the AI F-5s.

I don’t seem to be interested in the MehFighter - whether it is the lack of soul or just the collective national embarrassment…difficult to tell.

That’s why in competitive multiplayer you make a gentleman’s agreement to fly fairly matched machines. The F-5 is a fine match for the farmer and fishbed.

There is fairly good Cold War server for that kind of fun - MiGs vs Tigers and Viggens.

Here here young man! Buying you another round

I dream that once the MiG23 will be out together with F14A that we will get some nice servers without 4th gen PCs

This, and more this. And Thuds. And Mig-17’s while I’m wishing - some Yankee Station action. Something in DCS quality that is, with VR (SF2 was so 2000’s).

Ha, me too. EF2000 OST was really atmospheric (no pun intended)

Is this the one?

Even if it’s not on a motion platform, still looks cool. Especially the ability to use simulated HMD. Pretty cheap solution to the real helmet alternative.

This is cool, but I’m on the same boat re favourite modules…I’d love a really good 60’s - 70’s lineup, fleshed out with more era-appropriate AI aircraft and ground units to add to the feeling. It would allow a really good range of believable conflicts and the action itself is very hands-on, no MDF-tank plinking. You could also use the older fighters as ground attack and they wouldn’t be quite so completely outclassed vs current MP.

Nope this is something custom made by BAE, the one I maintained was EADS ASTA.
You can see in that video that the whole cockpit is populated of Fac-Simile stuff while we had… a different solution.
Plus our dome was almost literally 360°.
The Simbology seems close enough, but the HMSS (helmet mounted simbology) simulation is …ugh.

EDIT: this is the earlier version of ours, as you can see this still doesn’t have the complete dome setup.

Day 1 purchase for me. :sunglasses: I know this isn’t going to be the RAF version, at least to begin with, but close enough.

My Day-1 purchase is that EADS ASTA thing that @komemiute mentioned! :star_struck:

Glad I went long in my toilet paper commodities account! :open_mouth:

Day 1 for me too. I’ve seen that thing fly at airshows and it’s bananas!

Definitely a day 1 pre purchase for me too!

I have seen a few up close as they taxied by us. Awesome looking jet.

I assume the RAF version has all the bells and whistles. But whats the difference between the German version?

Too many to mention here, but in a nutshell- no IRST (infrared blister on the nose), no on board cannon and fewew A2G options… But not too sure.

Wikipedia has a great article about Eurofighter variants…

Mauser builds the gun but the Luftwaffe doesn’t use them? What madness is this?!

Check the root of the starboard-side wing, where the gun should be.

If they give me the ulitmate BFM monster machine and it has no gun, I will throw a temper tantrum of epic, galactic proportions.
