I think the idea is to go in completely unprepared. To have our first flight on a server with fellow mudspikians. At least, that’s what I’ll be trying. And as soon as I figure out how to make the gun go BRRRT OPFOR is gonna git sum!
Like I said - the basics
If….by chance,I shoot myself down with my own errant launched Aim-7 Sparrow….Would I still get Credit for a AA Kill and put some paint on the side of my Jet???
Self-shoot down with a Fox-1 would demonstrate real talent, I’d say you could paint whatever kill marking you wanted on the side of your jet, provide you could find what’s left of it.
This is the way. Jumping in and trying to get the thing up and running, take off without dying, drop some snake eyes on unsuspecting trucks, fire some missiles and land crash.
We Coulda Had him man.,.,
Did that when the JF-17 first came out. Went for flaps on takeoff and drag chute came out.
I turned off the F-16C’s electrical systems ( and with that the engine) on my first take off because muscle memory took over and after gear up you obviously put up the flaps. Unfortunately on the WH throttle DCS has the electrical power switch bound to the flaps lever by default…
I knew the F-16C has automatic flaps but when the monkey brain takes over there’s nothing you can do
Absolutely yes. 1 shot. 1 kill
i would be happy if i managed half of that in that order … personally i think the crash part may be wayyyy further up the list, and that W is brakes and shift W is jettison weapons @komemiute
LOLOLOL! SAAAME!
Let that be my forever heritage.
My usual order of business with a new release is the following:
- Get home from work and immediately boot up the gaming rig to start the download (luckily I now have Gbit internet so downloads take a few minutes at most even with 100GB patches)
- Take a shower
- Order take out
- Scramble to find a checklist for the new toy and put it in the kneeboard (this won’t be necessary for the F-4 with the features Heatblur put in).
- Alternatively if it’s a simple trainer I try and get enough systems running for take off (the mb339 was a piece of cake!)
- Join a server with like minded people, bind the most essential controls and start flying crashing the thing
LOLOLOL, I was damn sure it was ALT + F4
Especially on the F-4!
It’s beautiful, isn’t it? I legit wanted to cry when I first saw these speeds.
And I thought I was unlucky being in the 4% that doesn’t have fibre… I wonder if they’ll start doing NBN over Skylink at some point?
Unfortunately that doesn’t work with DCS, you’ll get a cool camera perspective though
and the banter on this thread alone, let alone when we all get together on discord is why I love this community and people
