Might have to do an FCS reset to correct that, also press and hold the trim button to set takeoff trim, which for the Hornet looks like it’s 12 NU.
Happens automatically once you’re WoW.
Yep, plopping it down on-speed and adding full aft stick below 100kts gives you the best deceleration.
Keep in mind the Sensor Control (castle) Switch is also used for designations. Instead of mashing down on the TDC, you’d typically castle into that display again. Mashing the TDC can actually have different functions.
Castle switch is also how you enter the various ACM radar modes, via an up actuation while already in A/A master mode.
Engages NWS if not already on, then switches between NWS/ NWS HI. Press/hold for HI if wings are spread, if folded it’s a toggle.
Think that’s a typo. With TDC to the HUD, once the reticle is over the target, mash down on the TDC to drop the designation. Then you can further slew the diamond to refine it.
Yeah, it should have a fair amount of bob to it at low speeds. I think in the C the anti-skid doesn’t even kick in until >10kts.
I think I covered most of the stuff I saw. Have you messed with the EW suite at all? Looks like one of the shots you at least had the RWR on.
Also, anyone still have the list of features coming with the alpha? If I remember right it’s essentially RWS/STT + ACM only radar, AIM-7, 9M, and strictly GP only bombs and rockets. Sound about right?
A collection of rough ground attacks. AUTO (CCRP type) stuff is not available yet…which I think explains why I couldn’t designate with the TDC to the HUD…
@BeachAV8R, do the Hornet A2A radar modes look anything like what we see in the F-15C? In other words, LRS, TWS, STT, AACQ (Vertical and Boresight), etc. TIA
Expect it to be fairly similar. Though I don’t believe TWS will be modeled at initial release. You can see the ACM modes, specifically vert acq and boresight, in Wag’s latest video:
Some beautiful shots in there @BeachAV8R! If you have the video lying around, can you grab one at 1:06? Diving down, speed brake out, looking back at the F-18.
Someone was asking about whether the night sparky effect blowing over the canopy was in place when firing the gun. According to comments by Wags, it is planned…but not in place yet. Fairly standard effects at the moment…
