DCS Fulda Gap

Looking forward to Kola!

But I still think it’s nice we get the complete Central Europe front too

Given the limited sets of sensors and items in the office, make the 104 a FC level and I’m ok.
As a matter of fact, there’s SO MANY planes that would be perfect at FC level…

VSN has a quite nice F104G mod. visual is very good. flight model (of its own) probably has its limitations. I haven’t played it much. Tried to find a direct link, but couldn’t. But you will see plenty of discussions. I used their Discord server to get the download.

It’s the people who are doing the Mirage F1 who are going to do the zipper. They don’t do it to make a ton of money I think, they do it to add to the virtual museum of the Spanish Air Force.

I for one, will abso-fook’n-lutely buy the -104. Sure it’s going to suck and kill me in myriad ways. But it’s such an iconic part of history. And I’d love it if all the little details are simulated. I love sitting in those cramped, anergonomic hellhole cockpits and figuring out why the hydraulics conk out if you don’t set that switch next to your right knee to the up position after takeoff.

You have a keen sense of internet and game history, don’t you? I have two words for you that should send you in a frothing bout of nostalgia (and also get your properly hot and bothered for the zipper) : Crap Planes

When I google that all I see are news articles about Boeing… can you expound for those of us interested?

And yes, I love the accomplished feeling of learning how to fly a completely obsolete, inadequate aircraft that I’ll never touch in real like. It’s super fun, and IMO easier than remembering keyboard or HOTAS shortcuts for the FC3 aircraft while in VR. Clickable cockpits FTW.

Way back in the before times, when the world was young and Oleg Maddox was the man, on simhq there lived an epic thread, a veritable threadnaught, called the crap planes thread in which the praises were sung of and fresh examples brought to light of flying machines that were in evidence of varying degrees of inadequacy to the point of utter lunacy. It was good. Some of the old hands @wheelsup_cavu, @JediMaster, @BeachAV8R should remember.

I reckoned a man who gets excited by the cyans and blacks of alleycat would also remember the PzLs and Henriots and such from that thread. It ran for at least 50 pages iirc.

Edit: I think this is it. Of course all the images are dead :frowning:
