DCS: Mi-24 Hind

This Hind is going to give me many, MANY sleepless nights. Anyone got any good books on it I could read?

If you choose to take it slow and manage your sleep we will love you just the same. Just saying.

Ooh I didn’t realise Yefim had a book on the hind.

Very thorough preflight and systems orientation. 1+ hour. :coffee: Apparently this is the D model, 1 of 3 privately owned Hinds in the U.S.A. imported from Bulgaria.

-35 export version. Not the P model, but could still be relevant to get familiar with the systems.

I’ve had that book for some time now. It looks like it was published in 2001.

Those prices though…

I’ve jumped on the Hind preorder wagon.

Now I just have to get off my axxe and finish the 3D Printer project, so I can get the right hand throttle, collective and other controller projects up and running again.

At the moment everything else is on hold as I have rediscovered Diablo II LOD and are spending most of my time on that.

Happy Simming.

Pre-ordered, I have the Tucano to keep me occupied until it comes out. Or until the OH-58, Apache, AH-64, the payware MB-339, or any other module I’ve been anticipating. Man I need to pickup some overtime…

It actually looks like Air missions: Hind to me.

Little known fact. The “Hind” helicopters in Red Dawn, Rambo 2 & 3 was actually an Aérospatiale SA 330 Puma dressed up.

Looking forward to the DCS videos reenacting these scenes with Combined Arms and the Hind.

Every so often…there are some real gems in YouTube comments:

“This was the original alternate ending of “Dirty Dancing” where Baby and Johnny get machine gunned by Russian helicopters.”
