DCS: Mi-24 Hind

That thing is terrifying to look at. I love it

I bet only the first two bullets out of that turret hit when aimed off centerline. It looks awesome indeed. Is that a navy flag on the side? @Hangar200?

That fixed gun is awesome… Unless you happen to be co-pilot gunner … With the muzzle about two foot away from you

I am not Hangar but that is indeed the russian naval flag on the side. There’s a squadron in Russian naval aviation for which this (the Mi-24VP with the 23mm cannons) is the primary attack type (they have the T, TV, PS and MT modifications of the Mi-8 for utility purposes as well). I found a decent read about them here, but you’ll have to put it through a translator.

Heaven forbid. :slightly_smiling_face:

My answer would have been a simple “Yes, it is the RussiannNaval Ensign…” Followed by a resounding silence. @Sryan’s answer is much more robust than I could have provided. I tip my hat to you Sir.

At first glance I thought it was the Scottish flag …

With such interest in this module - who is up to risk their virtual lives with their Mudspike friends and run a co-op mission? We can hopefully have multi crew, then pair up and just go for it, nothing too crazy until…

Round two, where I suggest we play multi-crew Hind dogfights. It will be a terrible mess, of fun!

I’m definitely in

Just noticed the first post in this thread is almost 4 years old. That’s a long time before it’s even reached early access for a bird with no “modern” systems. I wonder how long it will take to go to release after it starts. Less time than the Hornet, hopefully.

It was originally a Belsimek project before those guys rolled back into ED. The project has been in the freezer for some time which might explain the long development time. Another project that has been frozen during this step was the development of the F-4 Phantom II (I sincerely hope they will unfreeze that one some day soon as well).

Mine was Metal Gear Solid. “A Hind D? Colonel, what’s a Russian gunship doing here?”
