nice flying there, hope you get tech issues sorted, I have been having a blast with the Kiowa, promised myself I wouldn’t get the cut down apache, but its far better to fly without all the computers
Turns out I own the Apache. I gave it a quick fly and fired off the cannon and the rockets at some trucks, but anything more is beyond me at the moment. The Kiowa looks nice, but my virtual hanger is more than full at the moment.
There’s a metric F-ton of reason that can happen. Let me get the most obvious one out of the way, have you turned off Motion Blur?
Yup, probably one of the main reasons I’ve mostly stayed away from the tech. Used to spend more time fiddling than flying.
Motion blur is off. I went from vr to flat screen, then back to vr, so I think I’ve missed a setting somewhere.
Maybe it was like it before and I didn’t notice, but it’s almost like it’s lost its AA in places and compressed in others (center console in the Huey was most notable for the blur and the text on the instruments and fences suddenly look jagged).
I’m going in for another fiddle.
Cool shots and great flying!
This smells of bad USB connection to me.
Are all the USB cables properly plugged in, not under tension, and how is the USB power situation?
By USB power, I mean that if a motherboard has 10 USB-A 2.0 slots, the power supply backing that might not be able to power a TrackIR and all your peripherals in all of those slots at the same time. If you are using a USB hub, ensure it is a powered hub with its own power supply and check that the power connector is well seated and not under tension.
I have three presets saved for DCS: My VR Preset that I use for regular flying, a 2D Preset that I use for when I want to record a nice video and a 2D Preset with everything cranked up plus motion blur that I rarely use but has resulted in some nice screenshots

What a bunch of Mk.20 Rockeyes do to a SAM site:
Thanks for the suggestions, it might be possible. I noticed that USB power suspend was still enabled in device manager, so I’ve unticked all of those and ordered a powered USB hub. I do seem to have an issue of vanishing USB devices since installing a Wireless Dongle for VR as well.
After a few more PC issues (I either needed more RAM or less graphics) I had some more fun collecting patients from around Beirut which led me between buildings and winching from on top of houses!
That’s a great shot!!
Oh man I wish there was a training compaign about island hopping in a small help.
Mudspike tries not to post F-4E screenshots challenge {IMPOSSIBLE}
The 2024 thread has devolved into an Phantom appreciation post. Really, it’s a mark of how damn good that module is.
