Agreed. Went on a quick helo hop. Set the weather to the hot template. Gave it some nice haze. Looked pretty good! Frames were good, too.
That and dust that gets into everything are my enduring memories. I have been going through some photos and I am hard pressed to find any that show blue sky…
It is such an incredible module! It’s not my favourite fighter jet by a long shot but Heatblur did such a stellar job that it’s hard to get away from. It instantly became my favourite DCS module from the first moment I sat in the cockpit. There’s something very satisfying about flying and fighting in a jet that is all analog without any MFDs and of course having a buddy in the back is always better than being alone.
Graphically it’s maybe the best jet in the game, the flight model feels great, and bombing a SAM site with Rockeyes while dodging AAA never gets old.
whatever they build bridges with in bagdad we need here… that was a 2000lb gbu, didnt scratch it
some very nice areas up to the north west of the map
Too true, I didn’t become a Phantom Phanatic until after I got to fly it in DCS. Now, I can’t stop. The only thing that peels me away from it, here and now? The Viggen, another HB module. That’s 3 for 3. I’m at a point where I regard ED as the opener and HB as the main event.

A few more from the “Beware! Beware!” campaign, really enjoyable so far (guessing I’m about half way through).
and just when I thought I’d gotten the hang of taxing…
You are such a great photographer. Your eye for composition is awesome. How many of ED’s screenshot compo’s have you won?
