Incredible Mission on the 4YA PO Server, 6 Mossies Forming up over the Isle of White. The final strike group consisted of 10 Mosquitos, 3 P-51D and 2 P-47D providing fighter cover
Lately been flying a mission from Sidekick on the use of A-10A (Using a A-10C-II with the same armament options is allowed and my choice) in a fictional 1982 cold war gone hot scenario, dubbed “The Balloon Goes Up”. Some screens from different run throughs of the mission:
That was about the best I could achieve in SP, usually got shot to pieces bei Shilkas or SAMs.
Best played with 4-6 folks in MP.
Formation take-off.
En Route to the area of operations.
Popup of lead element, a two ship formation does a low level run and attacks with rockets.
High Cover engages identified AA assets with mavericks.
The target: A Soviet artillery unit with AA assets.
Egress, low. Very low. Or the SAMs will get the better of you!
Or go high and flare!
Going home with some battle damage nevertheless.

I also have the mission running on “TeTeT Dedi Test Server”, password “garlick”. If you want to give it a try let me know.
Anyone had any luck of finding these Vietnam assets that were included with the mod? I’ve been searching every category with no luck. The OH-6 is beautiful though!
You should be able to find them under the US and Vietnam countries.
They are spread into several categories but they all have the “VAP” prefixe.
There are a serie of pics showcasing the content in C:\Users\ %username%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech\Vietnam Assets Pack\Documentation
Mine too. Fantastic experience flying that for the first time.
Kola
Kola NPP around Midnight in June
Murmansk
Viggen, somewhere in Sweden, north of the Arctic Circle
Somewhere over Finland
Flight in F/A-18C with Finnish markings from the road base to Lakselv. Lot’s of wood, lot’s of water.
I recommend an excursion to Murmansk, preferably in the midnight sun. The night lighting is very nice, lit up runways are visible for 10s of nautical miles without zooming in, the eastern block apartments are partly lit, main roads and highways are partly lit. It’s pretty cool.
There’s also a lot of really nice handplaced landmarks when you follow the rivers and lakes north, starting from Kandalaksha via the Kola NPP at Zasheyek, Apatity, Monchegorsk, Olenogorsk, Murmansk and finally Severomorsk with the submarine bases around the river estuary and then out west to Lakselv. It looks pretty amazing tbh.

Great advice! We took A-10s today and flew from the road base east and then North to Murmansk and beyond. A wonderful route!
never seen an AI aircraft do a belly landing at its airfield, are there some improvements to the AI?
Damaged WWII Aircraft have been doing this for quite a while.
Love the paint job on that 15
