Couldn’t resist the urge to do a “canyon” run in the middle Rhine valley with the new Hercules… I started west from Ramstein and made my way north to the Rhine.
Here we are the Nahe, a smaller river meandering it’s way north towards the Rhine.
It seems the landscape got a bit of a make-over, the vineyards are not detailed, but at least it’s not all forest. The villages however seem to be a bit undersized.
They do, though not this far up the river. I think up to cologne at most. Ruhrort sees these kind of ships regularly. I see one in particular every few weeks on my commute so I looked it up and it usually goes to the UK and then back to Rotterdam and then Ruhrort.
Note to self: when flying the Herc solo, set up for landing early and get everything setup correctly! I crashed while trying to turn on the landing lights
forgot to take more screens but it was a smoth landing and I excited RWY23 on Papa.
Edit: I had to disable approach mode around 3 miles out because the turbulance kicked the nose around so much that it started hunting the ILS like crazy. I was pretty busy keeping the runway lined up as well.
Flying the ILS approach for RWY25 into ENBO is probably the most interesting approach you can fly in DCS as the ILS is offset from the Runway by 10° and you fly through the Fjords. Here I’m flying the approach along the coast and then finally via ADREL and TARKUP
Flying from Köln-Bonn to Wunstorf, mostly at low level. Checked out the Ennepatalsperre (Ennepetal reservoir and dam), the Sorpetalsperre (Sorpetalreservoir and dam), then to the Weser valley, Hameln, Porta-Westfalica, Minden and finally landing in Wunstorf
