Id love to @near_blind im afraid with my work and limited time available. Getting up to speed in the mirage will take all my meagre mental power before the fly in. Shame as its a module i think i would really enjoy.
Here’s a question, are there any observer slots built into these missions for late comers or those that just want to watch the fun?
Unfortunately, the way the task generation works on Bactria means that you’d have to rewrite a portion of the mission triggers to keep it relevant for an airframe without a TGP.
You might get more mileage from dropping in KA-50’s, SU-25’s or even a Gazelle or two, but it’ll still need work to tweak the taskings.
I would rather not. Don’t want to imagine how much that’s going to upend the balance of the mission. Plus the A-10s easy. Turn on jet, master arm and gun on. Boom. You’ve established 90% of all A-10ing.
BRRRRRRRRRRR-click
A-10 Pilot: “Hawg-1-1 Winchester, I’m out fellas.”
TAC-P: “What!? Hawg-1-1, on your last pass we had visual, lots remaining on your wings, check hung stores??”
A-10 Pilot: “Negative, no hung stores- oh. Huh. What’s that all that stuff doing on my wings?”
Early-model A-10’s were pretty much made by the Imperium of Man. Here’s your big rotary gun and wingful of bombs. Now sit in this titanium bathtub so you’ll live long enough to kill us some Soviet tanks. If you live, come back and we’ll do it again until you die.
INS? Pfft, what do you need that for? Fly East to this highway intersection, that’s where the fighting is.
Targeting? Pfft, you’re flying 250 knots NOE. Place crosshair, hold trigger.
ECM? Probably won’t live long enough to need it.
Air to Air? Here’s some camo paint, fly lower and hope the MiG doesn’t notice.
…So, yeah, gimme a full systems depth 1978 A-10A and a Fulda Gap map. I’ll even buy a kneeboard and print the appropriate maps so I can do it right!
