Pick up the Museum Relic campaign and you will soon fall in love with the little MiG. Especially as you fly in VR.
Hmmmmmm. That might be something to think about.
Already in love! Itās like the F-5ādesigned and build by people who loved to fly. But I will get the campaign just to get a better appreciation.
I love the fact that the MiG 15ās cockpit feels cramped and cluttered. Little details like the nuts and bolts that fix the gunsight to the glare shield are there in glorious 3D. The wonderful handling when you are flying within the envelope. The terrifying handling and slow engine spool up if you get slow on base to final, and the almost total lack of control authority when you encounter aerodynamic compressibility in a dive. Itās just a wonderful module, which, like you, I thought I wouldnāt like much and I wasnāt very interested in to begin with. It was a very pleasant surprise to me.
ā¦sold.

OMFG that MiG is a whole heapin lot of fun! The engine is lethargic to say the least but when it is running finally at full power, it is plenty juicy. And those guns! I feel like a bit of Battletech crossed over into DCS. That big olā -37 is insane.
Tiny cockpit and somehow it is very light on the PC, one of the smoothest in VR. The pit being small and the way this plane looks and feels makes it almost like something out of Il2.
This little bitty mig might just sell me on the DCS spitfireā¦
If you must choose between the Spit and the 109 or the 190, get the 109. It has a very similar vibe to the MiG. The Spitfire is wonderful also. And speaking of old planes, Normandie, and in particular, the airfields, looks much better with the beta than it did before.
I got the Gazelle this sale. I recognize some of the oddities of the flight model that @smokinhole pointed out earlier, but when flown in the envelope, it is not terribly noticeable.
I simply could not wait for the BO-105 any longer, and figured this was worth it for $25 as a substitute until the BO-105 is released.
I will never fly an airplane designed by fascists. Sorry to get political here, but a stalinist MiG is where I draw the line.
Heresy!
The Gazelle is a fun little ride. 4 ATGM make you work for it, when trying to stop any real enemy force. Iāve had fun making some missions that fit itās status as a scout and light COIN bird, as it really excels there (if you can design around an AI with perfect vision).
Well, pulled the trigger for the Normandy map + asset pack.
Hopefully itās worth it for the Huey, people seem to enjoy flying DCS whirlybirds in France countryside judging from Youtubeā¦
I have those and I surely love it.
A total change of scenery, trust me.
Plus the waterās perfect!
