Saw this guide that uses the VR mod here recently:
…and it mentions in the video description a multiplayer integrity check ok version that I might try. I am more or less ok DCS performance wise, but always curious to see whats up.
Things I picked up from the video:

DCS Terrain textures to LOW helps VRAM but doesn’t change much in visual fidelity. Curious to try this now.

Nvidia control panel stuff, to set VR Preframes to the max (4 I think) to reduce missed frames (rather than increase framerate). The argument against this pre-rendering is about latency of inputs (as the frames are queued up by the CPU). Again, might be worth a try.
Everything else seemed ok, although aiming for 60 fps is a nice luxury as the Index can go to 120hz. For Rift S the goal would be a solid 40 and for WMR a solid 45, both with their various reprojection magic on.
