I used jsgme when I used it. I may have to try it again. No exe creation but I bet @SkateZilla could incorporate it into his app
I cannot support every mod for DCS, lmao.
That being said, shader cache only exists in two self named foldersā¦ delete and repair would refresh.
You are a victim of your own genius.
Nowā¦can we get the next version of DCS GUI Utility to work on global warming? Yeahā¦I mean, how hard can it be to add a carbon sequestration tick box? Iāll Paypal you $20 for that.
Iām re writing the scan code for modules,
So itāll save 300ms per scan, so it will save:
300ms x Scan x Users x kWH / 300ms
Over
kWH / Previous Scan Time
Yeah, but not the one click solution Iām looking forā¦
The VR Shader mod requires the individual terrain shaders to be deleted tooā¦I think?
No, of course not!
But maybe just this oneā¦?
Does it work on yesterdays update? 2.5.5.33057 Open Beta.
I would like to know if this still works too?
EDIT: Well I just tried it and got a compile error something about glass.fx was deprecated??
I guess it needs and update I am going to the main thread and see if the mod was updatedā¦
EDIT#2: the last version of the mod was for DCS 32299 on the main thread post #804. it does not work with the current Open beta versionā¦ I get a compile errorā¦
Thanks for info! I get the compile error as well.
I put in a post at the main thread to see how to fix the compile errorā¦ in one fix similar they had to rem out a line. I am not sure if my fix would be similar but hoping it will be an easy fixā¦
I excluded the files glass.hlsl and glass_material.fx from the Shaders mod.
Enabled the mod in OVGME and waited. Works fine now.
Yes that was the response I got as well worked for me but I did not see an increase in my FPS??
I didnāt really check for the fps before/after - unfortunately.
It runs really smooth on RTX2080 and HP Reverb. Happy
Do you still get bad āArtifactsā in Shadows/Light over certain Terrain?
Donāt know. Give me an example of what to look for and I will try it.
It was always very noticeable for me in NTTR ,Itās a good sign if youāre not seeing it.
i have installed that mod , let the shaders compile and everything works fine , except 1 thing that annoys me, the Mig-29 hud is unreadable during the day and the hud filter (RShift + H) does nothing as it becomes transparent using the mod, any ideas on how to fix it or revert only the hud filter?
Saw this guide that uses the VR mod here recently:
ā¦and it mentions in the video description a multiplayer integrity check ok version that I might try. I am more or less ok DCS performance wise, but always curious to see whats up.
Things I picked up from the video:
DCS Terrain textures to LOW helps VRAM but doesnāt change much in visual fidelity. Curious to try this now.
Nvidia control panel stuff, to set VR Preframes to the max (4 I think) to reduce missed frames (rather than increase framerate). The argument against this pre-rendering is about latency of inputs (as the frames are queued up by the CPU). Again, might be worth a try.
Everything else seemed ok, although aiming for 60 fps is a nice luxury as the Index can go to 120hz. For Rift S the goal would be a solid 40 and for WMR a solid 45, both with their various reprojection magic on.
Just for reference, hereās some video screenshots (saves me typing ) of the important bits the author recommends trying:
Some of these in DCS are a bit brutal, but whatever floats your boat/framerate I guess:
I just added the vr shaders mod, and changed nothing else, and Iām staying at a solid 40+ with PD set at 1.6 in dcs. I didnāt try the nvidia settings or using steam vr vs oculus.
I really donāt understand why the VR mask is not a part of the base game. Made an immediate difference and was really simple to install. When you choose to run in VR mode it should restart with the mask.
For reference I was able to get sold 40+ at only 1.2 PD before. So it was an improvement. When I left it at 1.2, I was getting 80 FPS at some points.
