Whatever you do, never exceed 15 units alpha in this thing. Recovering from a departure is impossible, even when following procedure and having 42,000ft of room to recover. You end up in a falling leaf situation.
Oh my, what a thing. I can see how the boys who flew this were careful men proud of their huge brass cohones. I utterly failed to outfly a MiG-19 bot just now, but I was very much MC hammer to him as well!
Never have I flown anything that stupidly, madly fast in a sim before. I love how it will just straight up whack you for pulling too much AoA. Der Wittwenmacher indeed. It makes the MiGâs look like stolid borewagons. Except they will turn when asked

I would think that highly unlikely. Johnson passed in December 1990 and Musk was born in June 1971 making him just 19 years old when Johnson passed.

I still canât fly it. It ruined my weekend 
I reloaded my game. Loaded the F-104 and it still has no pit. I am using mission builder and loading it as player. When the mission starts im looking at the map, wt heck?
So here we are nearly 2 years later. Ive been enjoying this mod very much lately. My opponents have been the Fishbeds and as of late, the '19s. Combat in this bird is extremely exciting. I had the fastest gun kill of my virtual life last night. I dived on a '19 so fast that my window for a missile shot closed in the blik of an eye. A wink of a gun burst and i broke hard. Right as i passed him his left elevator came off. As i looked back he ejected. It was a fantastic experience. Especially since ive been into the Jug where everything seems to happen in slow motion and with a lot of effort. The Zipper is worlds appart and its hard to beleive there is only a bit over a decade between the designs. I thought iâd give a2a refuel a try. That went well and i reconnected a few times. I like using âflood lightsâ in low vis. The pit comes alive and looks as good as any of our payware aircraft. And dont be complacent, the Zipper Bites!!! A few times ive had unrecoverable situations that led to disasters. The Autopilot works. Its just a bit odd as you would expect in its first gen. But attitude and altitude they certainly do.
To summarize, there is fun to be had if you have experience and you are willing to fail a few times. Its a V-12 powered Toyota Celica. So bring your spurs and sense of humor. But it got me to thinking, VSN is serious. Could they develop into something? It also has made me long for a Starfighter module. Something i never thought i would want.
The mod is lacking a few things like navigation. I am hoping TACAN works soon. But its still miles from where it was at birth.
Worth a twirl if you want a very fast fight.
