Arg! After a disappointing run on stage 8 (Norraskoga … hit a bank and smashed into a tree), DR2 decided to crash on the last leg of the short stage 9 (Bjorklangen)!!! Pretty frustrated right now but on to Elgsjon later tonight.

When does this finish? I likely dont have time if it’s tonight unfortunately.
Finding it difficult to fit these in with all the other stuff I’m playing, as fun as they are.

Sweden Finishes Monday. However the other club @Mudcat setup is rallying in FInland which finishes tonight.

I do have an information thread because I know how quickly trying to put it up here gets buried if you ever need to know, but weekend races are Thurs - Monday and Fun Runs are Mon - Thurs

I use the paddles. But sometimes it sucks when you spun your car and want to get back on track, and the steering wheel angle makes you paddle the wrong way. 
I have a T.150 wheel and nothing else to shift with (although I am contemplating whether I should get an H shifter, a sequential shifter, and/or a handbrake…)
The slower ones would be nice for a start. Both the Rally GT cars and the Broup B RWD cars are… a handful to say the least, especially on slippery ground. A bit better on solid ground.
The class the Opel Kadett is in would be nice I think. I have been trying it for a bit and it is fun. Challenging but it doesn’t have 400+hp so a tad easier.

Oof, I know the pain. Mine was semi-self inflicted (rock wall, then no time loaded), so your’s is probably even more frustrating. Hang in there mate! 
Oh don’t worry, even I’m not ready for those fire-breathing RWD monsters yet! 
Though I am disappointed I joined the league just after you did the AWD Group Bs, I want a crack in them too. That said, starting off with the H2 RWD class with the Ford Escort, Alpine, 131 Abarth, and Kadett sounds perfect.

I’m getting the feeling that night runs are taking a hit on my 1080ti video card and VR. Boo hoo, first world problems right? I’m going to see if I can dial down some graphics settings. CPU core usage seems quite nice with DR2 … very low usage. Video card on the other hand … noticing 90-95% usage in the best of times.
And no, I’m still not spending upwards of $2000 canadian for a 2080ti.

I know that we drive different classes, but it sequential paddle is probably a good compromise, given that a modern R5 car uses a sequential stick. Man, my brain can’t keep up with the pace notes.
In the 2000s they used one big paddle, pushing and pulling, if memory serves. Latvala when he used to drive for Ford. The jumps will look familiar to anyone driving Finland.

Second vid about 5:10, driver runs it into a ditch, immediately gets out and demands that spectators should push him out. Not only do you have to have balls, but you also have to have charisma!

Finished Finland tonight. Could not get the measure of @Roo’s speed, which was incredible, especially in the first two kilometers. Not sure how he comes out of the gate so quickly.
My best stage was probably SS8 where trying to make up time, rolled the Polo twice and only lost 20 seconds to our fearless leader. SS12 was also interesting. In SS11 I had hit that damned log pile to the left of the road after a big jump which was followed by I think a 4 right, and damaged the radiator. Well steam was pouring from the car as we pulled up for the start. No service before 12 and 1 kilometer from the start my co-driver begins saying, “There is a problem with the engine.” I began short-shifting to keep the RPMs very low for the rest of the stage and just limped in, sweating bullets the whole way.
That was a heroic drive by Roo if there ever was one. Every stage was full of places that would destroy your car. He made it look easy.

Just finished Sweden. Concious of @Roo tearing up the track I tried to increase the pace a little, marginally improving on @chipwich time on a couple of the stages apart from stage 11. I went off in a 3 left into the trees, reversed back on the track and flipped the car onto its roof coming down the snow bank. Penalty taken I was 17 seconds down but clawed it back to 10 seconds lost. If I’ve not had the car on its roof, I’m not trying hard enough.
Last stage was hair raising and almost disaster in the first few corners with the car on two wheels for a time. I was chasing Chips time all through the stage before the final sector where I’m guessing he may have had a racing incident and gained 4 seconds, I crossed the line for a 58:27 finish.
For some reason this is not showing on Racenet 
so all hope on Team VW rest on @chipwich.
Great racing all and I really like the idea of the team race, can’t wait for the next one.

Just finished up Sweden. Fun rally. As @Roo said in an earlier post, Sweden was hell in Rally 1.0. So i kinda dreaded doing this one.
Turns out it was great fun!!! @chipwich is looking like the main to beat right now. Stage 11 was a blistering time! For me Stage 11 was a double roll over but I landed on my wheels so no harm.
Stage 12 was going good until I clipped a snow bank with my right rear and got the old Right rear puncture call from My co driver. It was right before that fast 6 left 6 right section, so i kept my foot in it and finished the stage with a flat rear tyre.
Interesting note, FWD and Sweden go surprisingly well with no tyre on the right rear.
@keets Thats a bummer man, Normally if it shows the leaderboard after a stage in game it has uploaded to the site.

Oh believe me, didn’t feel easy in the cockpit. Plenty of heart in mouth moments where I though I was about to crash out. 
The worst feeling is when you’ve gone over a big jump slightly askew, and you’re hanging there for what seems like an eternity, slowly drifting towards a tree. I could see myself slowly winding on more and more lock, which obviously doesn’t do anything in the air. Thankfully touchdown was before I got to the forest. Definitely glad it’s behind me!
Nothing special. Hold the revs at 2/3 to 3/4 of the redline, then release the handbrake and full throttle. Only other thing I can think of is I’m immediately up to my normal pace, I usually don’t take it easy for the first little bit unless it’s the first stage of the day. When I’m doing multiple stages I just get into the flow, so the pace is immediately there.

Well so much for tacking it easy and try to complete all stages in my first online Rally, heeh.
It was going well on the 5. stage until a highspeedsection ending in a 3 or 4 right turn after a jump. I missed the callout and hit the jump in the wrong direction. Hello trees and terminal dammage.
Blaaaahh!
Is it possible to do any on road repairs on terminal damage or is the only option to retire? I have not really checked so I retired.
It was fun and high concentration, but I am really soaking in sweat now.
