Having been offline since 2nd June I have now put my simpit back together. Most updates are complete but not dcs. Need 2.9.22.17790, currently 2.9.17.11733. I have moved the download folder to drive D for more space. Do I need to purge my photos,/dcs maps etc to make space or install a new drive. I have emptied recycle folder.
Computer states "not enough disc space in tge download folder. Need 745108mbytes when only 377195 are available.
C DRIVE170GB USED 294GB FREE
D DRIVE 1.45TB USED 368GB FREE
Help please.
Congratulations on the pit mate.
I’m afraid you will have to remove some bits of DCS before updating in this situation. What maps have you installed? Maybe delete them and reinstall after update?
All of them. About to do a mass delete! Cheers. I will advise if it works
That did not work. I will delete the modules and if that fails will go nuclear and delete dcs/reinstall unless you have other ideas
A full install of DCS with all maps comes in at the moment at about 1.21TB, she’s a hefty old girl now, the aircraft are only about 8gb max (phantom) but its the maps that are the biggies
Total delete gives me 1.46TB free on my D drive. About to start a reinstall
I have a feeling that a new drive may be in the future
especially with the Balkans coming out next year, at the moment mine is on a 2tb that it shares with steel beasts, but even that is getting a touch crowded with about 550gb left
You probably had a big cache of _downloads under the DCS World Program Files directory.
Clean install is always a good idea in case of weird issues, hope it doesn’t take too long!
I went from a 2tb dcs drive to a 4tb one. And anorher for the os and the other games. Godbox be godly ![]()
