Call me skeptical based on the date.
Did some hauling, CMM Composites and Aluminum is all that’s left,
CMM Composites done. Just Aluminum left to go
I’ve managed a few trips this morning - will try to get on again this evening for more. Only 6K aluminium left to go
I managed another couple of thousand tonnes. If anyone else is playing in Open be aware that The Code are staking out the Trailblazer megaships looking for easy prey. Fortunately I noticed them before I left the vacinity of the megaship so managed to avoid a rebuy.
Shopping list complete, fuel topped off.
Awesome! One carrier jump coming up.
EDIT: Carrier jumped back to Gamma Muscae. However, when I launched I was immediately thrown 800km outwards and was unable to head back to Fei Lo - she was orbiting within the exclusion zone of the star! I will try again later / tomorrow and if the same thing happens I’ll submit a bug report to FDev, though I don’t expect it will be a priority for them.
After a quick and toasty drop into supercruise I had a look around:
The asteroid base is going to be in a fabulous spot:
In the end I remote-jumped Fei Lo to an orbit around the innermost moon so that we can at least get to her. The moon is located just outside the ring so the travel time isn’t too bad. Just remember to approach from the correct side of the ring to avoid a 40km cruise in at the end.
Update: Up to 20% now. This is much harder than the previous ones - each T9 load is about 1% progress.
I noticed the same thing with the couple of Cutter loads I did.
I’ll be in maybe Sunday night to help- lots of things happening this weekend.
Does the visual status of the station represent the % of the construction?
I don’t think so. I think the construction site is just an asset that disappears after the station is completed.
In related news, I’m finding CMDR Mechan’s stoicism in the face of the constant changes to colonisation economy mechanics somewhat amusing - like Captain Mainwaring in old episodes of Dad’s Army :
We’re up to 38% now. I’m jumping Fei Lo back to the bubble for the next load of supplies.
EDIT: Fei Lo will jump to Minerva in about 15 minutes. There is a trailblazer megaship there so hopefully loading up shouldn’t be too arduous.
Hope to be back on this week sometime,
I took a break to join the CG this weekend, but I moved my Cutter to the fleet carrier, so I can quickly shift back to helping haul materials after.
I did some hauling last night and this morning.
Last action my X56 would see. Currently awaiting the arrival of my Next level Flight sim cockpit Monday and my moza joystick thursday. Hoping the throttle comes soon too.
Needless to say im in driving mode only right now.
But as soon as i get the flight sim pit set up, ill be back and hauling like crazy. And ill have a condor too.
I jumped on last night to shift some commodities. I picked up a full load of steel only to find, once I got back to the carrier, that someone (presumably @weaponz248) had already stocked up on that. So I had to nip back to swap it for some liquid oxygen. I gave up after crashing into Fei Lo on the way back and went to bed, obviously too tired to play. I’m logging on for a few runs now, though.
Quick update: I finished loading the carrier and jumped her back to Gamma Muscae today. It’s a pretty view from the bridge:
From the Captain’s office you get a real feel for the sheer size of the ring - it passes out of view behind the window and extends as far again behind the carrier!
Fei Lo is sitting about a quarter of the way around the ring from the construction site but on the same side. Trips between the two are a blur of rocks whizzing past at supercruise speeds. It’s a little reminiscent of that trippy scene in 2001: A Space Odyssey where Dave Bowman pilots the pod through the wormhole, and is quite jarring at first:
LOVELY lovely screenshots!
