Yeah, Just recently watched Interstellar and there was so many references to 2001, It was quite cool comparing scenes from the 2 films makes it seem almost unbelievable that 2001 space odyssey was released a year before the moon landings.
Indeed, here’s the original, like @Maclean said, made even before the first moon landing…
It’s also the docking music in Elite- Frontier 2 (as a homage), and it always slightly irritated me that people would hear it and say, ‘hey, the music from elite - cool!’
I love that docking scene from 2001. Makes me want to watch the movie again, for the 13 millionth time!
