Sure, not as good as 4K but I didn’t want to spend 800 bucks for a monitor so 1440 will do. I love it so far and I’m glad I had the space for a 32” monitor.
Welcome to the Pixel club. 32“ high five!
Enjoy! I think 1440p has an amazing balance between affordability, quality and definitely also speed. Mine goes up to 165Hz which is achievable for my hardware and that has been amazing in sims. Can I ask what game that is? I like the way it looks.
It’s Stalker 2.
It‘s the loading screen on game start. It better be a nice picture because you need to stare at it a long time. ![]()
Yay welcome! I’ve seen 4K and I just don’t see the big difference between it and 1440.
Nice, enjoy. A bigger monitor is very nice. I used to run a 24" 1080p then it became my second monitor when I upgraded to a 27" 1440p IPS monitor and last year I upgraded from the 27" monitor to a 34" 3440x1440p 165Hz oled monitor and so far it’s been great ![]()
The 27" has become my second monitor and the 1080p which still has a TN panel is collecting dust now.
It is nice to have more desktop real estate, especially when editing missions where I often have DCS, a browser with documentation like MOOSE and notepad++ open at the same time. Being able to split the ultra wide between notepad++ and DCS has made it much more comfortable to edit missions in DCS.
I went from a 42” 2160p60 panel to a 32” 1440p165 and for games it’s a definite improvement. The 42” was great for productivity but I don’t get paid to do that at home any more.
I think the pixel pitch on the two monitors must be similar (I haven’t calculated it), but the higher frame rate is the killer feature for me. And I don’t think with my system I’d be able to get much more than 60fps at 4K for most things. But at my viewing distance I actually prefer a 32” monitor - the 42” is rendering a bunch of stuff I can’t really pay attention to in a FPS or strategy game, and for sims I still prefer VR.
Great choice, it’s a lovely monitor ![]()
