First Impressions - DCS Viggen

Originally published at: http://www.mudspike.com/dcs-viggen-impressions/

Mudspike was fortunate enough to receive early access to Leatherneck Simulations‘ AJS37 Viggen module for DCS. Troll and I got to take the Viggen for a test ride and have gathered our impressions to share. EinsteinEP As with their MiG-21bis product, Leatherneck Simulations has brought a beautiful aircraft to life. The Saab Viggen itself has a certain exotic…

Excellent read! Looking forward to being able to learn and fly this!

Awesome write-up!
It almost made me want to buy it.

(No offense intended, it’s just I have TOO MANY DCS modules and my wife found out the option of our home banking that redirects every transaction to her phone! MADNESS! Were are we going with this sheanigans?!)

Great write-up. Really looks like a very detailed module.

Ask her that as a hard working, faithful husband, and loving father, would the money be better spent on porn, booze, or gambling  At least that’s the strategy that I use.

I’m afraid that as usual I’m the catalyst for the strangest shifts in threads topics. For that I’m sorry.
OTOH, @SiThSpAwN, I feel that for you, man. @chipwich: you obviously have a past experience as SWAT team-level Negotiator. I’m impressed. @Rhinosaurus- heh…urhm… of course I’ve no idea what you talk about.

EinsteinEP and Troll make me wish I could write. Troll, you don’t have to be Swedish to have dreamed about the Viggen as a boy. I remember lusting over the ECSI box wishing I could someday afford the Kit. Now years later I get to fly it in a few days.
The incident Troll talks about is called the “Whiskey on the Rocks” incident. Its an awesome read on Wikipedia. So bizarre that you cant make this stuff up.

From all the videos I have seen so far, I am super impressed. Nice One Leatherneck.

Someone once said, “If leatherneck made a donkey cart simulation, I would buy it” I thinks he was right on target.

I just jab away on the keyboard. It’s @EinsteinEP that makes coherent sentences of it all, and deletes everything I already mentioned two or three times.

Me too! I loved it… I built several 1/72 Heller and Airfix Viggens, but the ESCI 1/48 kit was awesome! Dreadfully inacurate by todays standards though. I have bought the new Special Hobby AJ 37.

True! The entire 80ies and the beginning of the 90ies, was a cat and mouse chase in the Baltic.

Well, the Viggen is a good approximation of a supersonic donkey cart…

That’s the coolest three-words-sentence I’ve read since the beginning of '17.
