I figured I’d start up a thread dedicated to FS2024 screenshots. For as many (valid) complaints as there’s been with the game so far, it is quite impressive when it works.
Something a little different. I picked up the “Emergency Support Boat” mainly out of curiosity and maybe a suitable vehicle to complete my Lewis and Clark trek which has been waiting for me probably longer than the actual expedition at this point.
A morning cruise up the Thames.
Does it have a cockpit?
Yes, it has a cockpit. It’s far from fully functional but it’s an interesting little diversion and a nice change of pace.
The cruis up the Thames didn’t end so well…
And there are still some physics anomalies when it comes to the water. I hit a water ‘shelf’ at speed and triggered this impressive jump.
I really enjoy how 2024 handles water in areas like the Caribbean.
Odd texture for a default auto-gen building
Just picked up the Fenix A320, since it runs in FS 2024 and gets universally positive reviews. Need some time getting reacquainted with all of the Airbus magic. In the meantime, she’s kind of like my wife, pestering me constantly about something that I’m doing wrong
Love the 320!
I have had a few difficulties with Fenix tech support, but I have to say that the Bus has really turned out to be an amazing plane in MSFS.
I’ve used it to train for recurrent ever since it came out and there is very little that I’ve had to “suspend my disbelief” about.
If you fly her a lot, the Thrustmaster throttle quadrant is worth the money as it has the throttle and flap detents that kind of make the Bus the Bus.
I finally recieved my replacement AY210 yoke base today. I figured that was worth celebrating with a new airplane for my hangar… the Tukansim Ford Trimotor 5AT.
I flew a short hop from Fresno up to Yosemite Valley, took in the sights and then crossed the Sierra Nevada mountian range before landing at Bryant Field, a small airport at Bridgeport, CA.
The 3D model is very nicely done, with a lot of detail
The cockpit is well modeled too.
Coming up on Half Dome…
And to the left, we see the sheer face of El Capitan.
Turning to the north, passing Half Dome.
Parked at Bryant Field.
It was a fun flight.
Some of those pics look like screens from an Indiana jones movie when he is globe trotting over the Himalayan mountains
Love the cockpit
Btw how does the AY210 perform? Is the force feedback believable?
FYI, the MSFS 2024 King Air has had a bug for 8 months that prevents the engine instruments and speed tape from functioning. Following this topic in the official forum, learned that you can (TLDR) copy the 2020 King Air 350 to the MSFS 2024 Community folder, disable the default King Air, and restart the sim to fix. 2020 KA in 2024…
Copy or link these folders.
I like the AY210, despite the little problem I encountered that required me to send it back for replacement. I haven’t completely dialed it in yet, but its motion is smooth and the stiffening of the controls with increased airspeed is pretty good. Definitely a quality product that will continue to improve as they update the software.
I picked up the FlightFX Citation X.
Some shots from a quick hop from Christchurch to Queenstown.
I have never flown the Citation X but the avionics suite is the same as that in the Global I used to fly (Honeywell Primus 2000). By today’s standards it is pretty antiquated. The automation all seems to work nicely.
I flew the Global to Queenstown on several occasions. This is the spot they always parked us at.
Overall, I am very impressed, and the price is not bad at all ($30).
