Flysimware Lear 35A initial thoughts

Nice review and I should probably do the same and just buy the thing. Thread on SOH for a few fixes, with inputs from a real world former C-21 driver. Always a fan of the LJ line, just the stock 45 has no style like the 35 does.

So sorry for the thread resurrection - but in reinstalling P3D I came back across this (FlySimWare Learjet 31A) in my list of aircraft that I like to have on hand. It has been updated to version 4.1 by now. It also now includes a tool that allows you to quickly apply the RealityXP GTN (or other third party avionics) and that really makes this panel nice. I updated the first post to provide a direct link to Paul’s darker panel mod. Be aware that there are two files that are apparently not compatible with the 4.1 version (I found this out through trial and error). The two files are PANEL_3 and PANEL_3_NIGHT. Something about them and the GTN changes the caution panel geometry. You can use all of the other files though and it appears as though the panel is 99% changed to the new textures.

LEAR-07

The GTN750 works great in the panel…such a lovely unit in reality and in simulators. (@chipwich is a GTN aficionado as well I think)

And she is a rocket-ship as we’ve talked about already…

Here is the stock panel (lighter grey) with the GTN installed:

And here is the modded panel with the darker graphics and updated gauges (sorry they are blurry on zoom, I might have reduced the size/quality too much)…

Not tried it in VR yet. That’s on my TO DO list today…

Hi Folks,

You should see this baby now - grab the latest version (4.2g) - it’s been massively updated - model fixes - fde fixes (rw L35A pilot on staff) - new sounds - and completely retextured (new texture artist) in glorious PBR for P3Dv4.5 - it’s the finest BizJet we’ve ever had in P3D…

Scott

Those were the glory days of corporate aviation. I flew the 31 but never the 35 or 24 unfortunately. The 31 wasn’t in the same league. If I have p3d I’d buy for sure.

I’ve never even sat in a Lear. I always enjoyed watching the check haulers come screaming into our FBO at cough…walking speed…and dumping their stuff, loading stuff, and then scrambling back out to the runway at 2AM. I believe their callsign was “Star Check”…perhaps AirNet Express is the certificate holder. For some reason I thought they had some older Lears too…

Hi Folks,

Forgot to mention the upgrades are all free - I started with this aircraft like three years ago and it was my first experience with FSW - three years of continual updates - some big - some small - some massive - and they never asked for another dime - - - who does that ??? Must have had 30 to 40 updates since I purchased it - always moving the ball forward… OK - they got me hook, line, and sinker…

Hah - more interest than I thought - just happened to stumble across this site when I was looking for some Lear PIX - NICE REVIEW… Seems more combat sim orientated - I previously flew Falcon 4 - now a bit of DCS - but I spend far more time with P3D… Thanks for the warm welcome and I’ll poke around a bit more…

Also an AirNet aficionado - yep “starcheck” - GREAT VIDEO - I painted a couple of AirNet schemes on the new model already - available on AvSim or FlightSim… My CFI worked for AirNet back when I trained with him - we stopped at Bradley (KBDL) one night on a cross country - he let me climb in the pilot seat - my real memory was how darn cramped it was in the cockpit - you had to plan every move accordingly just to get in the seat - I’m 6’5" 220 lbs… I own and fly a Beech in the RW…

Scott

Heya Scott, welcome here!

We do love DCS here, though most of us do play a ton of different simulators so don’t feel threatened by that! Post whatever you like, I am sure most of us enjoy reading or discussing it!
