I guess the F16 TQS would have a similar angle and feel as a number of single engine fighters, including the Spitfire (if you ignore all the switches). It felt pretty good, but the VirPil CM3 throttle had a lot more weight to it, plus, as with the Warthog throttle, you can lock the two levers for single engine types (if you want to).
The F-16 TQS was highly requested and I remember participating in a survey (I can’t remember if it was officially backed by TM) and a new F-16 TQS HOTAS was among the top choices. I just feel like TM missed the window on this one. There are a couple of things I like about the new TQS but I already have a WinWing F-16 grip and it would be hard to justify a new purchase.
I also came across the following on Helisimmer. It seems that TM is finally paying attention.
I would be interested in just the ‘Viper Panel’ for the gear lever (if it works as a stand-alone unit) but USD250.00 just for a gear lever - yikes!
I was initially hopeful that TM were bringing a collective to the market.
But the article says “joystick base” for the helisim crowd, so… All I can think of is FFB, a joystick that comes from TM with an extension, or (ho-hum) a twist grip?
You might be on to something. I guess we just have to wait and see, especially since TM surprised us with a Viper TQS. I’m hoping for a collective loosely based on the Apache.
