Played it a lot when it came out. It’s a ton of fun with a bunch of friends in your squad. Playing with randoms can be a very hit-or-miss experience as it can always be when playing with internet strangers. Yes humvees ( I think. They were sued over using humvees in the game by GM. But then, activision managed to win the lawsuit and then put them back into the game).
Played about an hour and I’m blown away. Its like a love letter to the first films. Wonderful. The dude handles like a tank. Its feels amazing stomping around
I picked up a pc monitor and threw it so hard that i took out 2 guys standing next to each other AND they took out an exploding gas can.
Only thing i don’t like is that I’m not allowed to drive the cruiser, but i DO like the fact its not an open world. Its cool! Totally recommend
Squad: as written above, you need a group to play with. Movement and weapons are well done. Gameplay loop consists of running (or driving) to the line of conflict, maybe shooting at someone, then getting sniped or blown up and respawning.
Actually a lot like BF just slower and most things happen at a longer range. And you can build structures to fight from which I find incredibly annoying to have to do between being sniped.
The best game I ever had of Squad was a couple of days ago, with the new PMC western faction. The server was filled up with bots and the players all jumped to the Western PMC side and we had some good fun playing with all the new weapons. Also no tanks or air, so there wasn’t that annoyance. We still lost the game to the bots (), but it was actually fun!
Again 80% discount. Delisting scheduled for Dec 12 IIRC. Apparently it’s one of the most popular racing games on Steam Deck too.

It is a really fun open world racing game with many cool cars. My son and I have played it for hundreds of hours and still play it.
So cheap? Is it good? I’m tempted even if I am crap with racing games…
Edit: good job adding a review… As much as I like the graphics, the reviewer painted a clear picture. It’s not for me. That’s ok though.
Get it, just for the Mudspike rally league. We typically have a top 3-5 of people who are good and the times of the rest are mostly determined by their staying on the road and/or shifting properly.
It’s fun to share the road and stories of how you crashed on that one stone in the corner halfway through etc.
No skill required.
+1. Not only that but you will also be able to get the new WRC rally for peanuts and could drive in both competitions:
I am about as thrilled about EA as most gamers, so much that it made me hesitate buying that one, but WRC is really good.
I’ll think about it… I have a few days left.
When someone need days to think about if will buy or not a game that cost now 1.99€ , so its not a game for you and its away from the taste you like
You will never ‘win’ a Bad Influencer tag like that
That Rally game is very very good and worth well that cost, its a triple A quality racing simulator that is almost like gifted.
The situation is that i love to recommend games and many of my steam friends received recommendation, reviews etc, but when i see people that not buy a game in a big sale and say that he will think, 90% of the situations is because he not want and even free game he will not play it. For people that pay like 100 € for a dlc on a simulator on release, later say that a game of 4 € in a 90% sale and with 10.000 reviews 98% positive replied that need to think before spend that 4€, the conclusion is always to forget that…
I think you do have a good point here. In Italy we say “Delay is the most lethal form of denial” or something to that effect.
I just don’t feel like I would even be able to go straight. Too much reading of “This game is the Dark Souls of racing games!” and I am honestly just starting making a dent in my way too big backlog by playing what I can 30 to 45 minutes per day…
Divorced fathers have all the excuses, am I right?
Dirt Rally the “dark souls of racing games”??? the people that say that never tried the Richard Burns Rally!!!
Or GPL!
FWIW, if you already have EA WRC 23, you can get the 24 upgrade by buying the full game again (not the season pass)
Steam is currently selling EA WRC 24 for $13.99US.
The Locations & Cars content pack is $19.99 and the Season Expansion Bundle is $29.99.
I just rebought the game and added the Locations and Cars content pack right in. The other DLC has not been released yet, so I can’t tell if it will add it. But according to the EA website, this new edition will include it.
It’s very scummy by EA to penalize the early adopters by offering the season expansion for full price, when you can get it just by buying the new game.
Separately, BF2042 is on sale for $4.79. I think it’s the cheapest it has ever been. BF2042 was much maligned when it came out, but they really have improved the game since then. It’s not perfect and it’s not as good as good old Battlefield 2 or Battlefield Bad Company 2, but it’s good. I have hundreds of hours into it. It’s very well worth $5.
Yeah, that is pretty shitty.
I thought I had WRC 24, because that is what is showing in Steam. But, nothing has changed except the name.
I’m not particularly interested in the content pack cars… the Tet Rally, Latvia and Poland maybe?
I got the 2023 Season Pass when I pre-ordered, but it was only cosmetic ‘stuff’, helmets, liveries, etc. Is The 24 Season pass any different?
