Yes you can play solo. You’ll see others in safe zones but they can’t fire at you. There are PvP modes and an open area called the dark zone where people can pk you as well. I think the dark zones just offer different gameplay and better gear drops but I haven’t gotten that far so dunno

This is one of those things, like Euro Truck Simulator and Farming Simulator, that I always found a little strange and never thought would interest me that much (it may be dangerous for me to admit that here! 
). That said, for $1 curiosity got the better of me. . .
And Farming Simulator is free on the Epic store until sometime tomorrow, so yeah.

Also on Epic Store, Metro Exodus is on sale with the Standard edition being £20 which even though I have it on PS4 I thought this was too good to pass up and when I went through to pay it then applied an extra £10 off so got it for £10! Not sure if this works for everyone but worth trying if you fancy the game. It is very good btw.

It’s a crazy deal. I thought it was for xb1 only, but I guess they opened the deal to pc too.
Several of us have been playing it. I have over 30 hrs into it now. It also has 4 player co-op. No brainer pickup. Imo.

So my wife said she wants a computer game for her laptop. I told her about Farming Simulator and she is interested. But her laptop does not have a cd rom drive, and I did not see a Farming Sim to buy that could be downloaded onto her Windows machine. She does not want to game from her smart phone.
Any recommendations?
Something like this is laptop friendly. It’s a nice game, although depends on how realistic style you want for farming:
