I enjoyed Starfield quite a lot. I put about 286 hours into it.
As I never took screenshots in SF, I didn’t notice. However, I should have guessed as Fallout 76 does it and it’s the same dev and engine. Now I wonder if Fallout 4 does it…
Ah, I did not know that. Ya I took two screenshots a couple days ago for first time. Initially I was surprised to see load screens, very, very similar to the screenshots I’d just taken.
An extremely rare Saturday morning off. Introducing the (jumpy) boy to the world of Dino Crisis which recently got released on GoG.
He’s unimpressed. But still jumped appropriately in the right places
I forgot how awful tank controls are
The last time I played Crimson Skies had to be around 20 yeats ago. Installed it yesterday and browsed for some fixes to make it run on modern hardware. I was surprised how good this game still is. It needs a proper remaster.
Yes sir, it does.
I would commit atrocities for one.
Did you download the game from somewhere or did you install it from the DVD/CD you had from when you first bought the game ??
Wheels
I lost my CD during one of my moves, I will probably re-buy it again if I find one of those big-box releases. The one I had was one of those re-releases DVD-box without manual, so no big loss. You can find the cd image online easily nowadays if you want to try it yourself (as this is no longer available in retail or as digital download anywhere).
I was just recalling Crimson Skies while playing Sea Of Thieves last night. And yes, it would be a good candidate for a proper 4k remaster. I still have the XBOX 360 disk somewhere.
Xbox sequel is on GamePass IIRC, though I prefer the PC version.
Oh the things I’d do for a proper Crimson Skies remake/relaunch. Honestly as VR light sim title, it’d be amazing, and you could do so much the setting and tech in VR.
So Call Of Duty DMZ is fading on me now due to lack of updates.
Debating now between
Amra Reforger, Grayzone, or Tarkov.
In Tarkov you can tell if a Mosin is cocked or not by looking at the firing pin.
That game does details like no other game does. It‘s also more than just a shooter. In a good way. And it teaches how to deal with loss.
Hows the cheater situation now?
I heard in EFT it’s still rough,
DMZ it’s stupid bad because the devs abandoned all work on it.
Gray Zone is still relatively good, but it’s still early.
Arma Reforger, I have no clue.
I play a fair bit of reforger and not seen anything yet.
I fancy eft. But videos do not paint a good picture of the aimbotting
I‘m not playing right now, but it‘s the same as always. There are cheaters occasionally.
But also there is the constant doubt if you just died to a cheater, because there are no killcams. So the frustration of dying is often projected into hate for cheaters, even when it was a valid and clean kill. Tarkov is hard on the mind, which is part of the experience. You are invested, so losing hurts.
Nowadays you can play it PvE only, which is likely just as frustrating but will give you peace of mind about cheating as there are no human opponents. PvE mode also does not wipe every 6 months. And can be done Coop, which how I recommend to play two thirds of the time.
The amount of bitterness I still harbor towards Microsoft for what that did to several of the old FASA properties…
