You buy tiles, place them on the table and they are clearly indicated how they interact with each other. Wehn all is set it’s auto battling- I know, I know… I love control too, and yet!
Cathcy, cool, slick, tight, easy to understand, and phenomenal artistic presentation.
If not you, show this game to your woman, wife, girlfriend, daughter- phenomenal.
No violence, a lovely cat dealing the tiles and a fascinatingly fresh gameplay!

But I am a bit of a sucker for PC ‘boardgames’. Talisman, Yu-Gi-Oh, Legends of Runeterra, etc have stolen way too many hours of my life.

I have been completely sucked up by Surviving Mars. It’s not a great game, but something about its aesthetics and the gameplay loop just keeps me at it.

I never really gotten that far into it. I love the early game where you manage the bots and prepare the planet to get colonized but after that I often get frustrated by all the problems and issues you have to fix. Did you see the remaster? Think it’ll be good? I skipped out on all the DLC, maybe it’s better.

He’s crafted something that doesn’t imitate the 90s, it FEELS like a 90s product. One we dreamed of, even.
Flat colored polygons in such a detail you can immediately recognize what they’re modeling running at a butter smooth frame rate? It feels like a home port of an arcade game that had some SEGA black magic going on to make it achieve that performance.
We’re given a some what abstracted Cold War setting where we fly various operations. Kudos to the dev for choosing the Defender. One of the few redeeming factors in that stinker of a film that was Firebirds? How cool the bad guy helicopter was in action:
Even the name is perfect. I’m assuming ‘Hijong Park’ is his name or a pseudonym and it reminds me of when certain developers had the kind of clout to just slap their name on a game’s title. Think Sid Meier or American McGee.
I also assume he’s Korean since ‘Park’ is a Korean name and also the ROK Army and Air Force use quite a few Defenders. Actually, Korea has a really interesting history with the type as it’s flown for BOTH sides of the 38th parallel.
In all, I’m very hyped for this.

It really is super fun and has, at least gameplay wise, aged well.

I played through it a few times.
Endgame is a bit weird since you suddenly run out of things to do and just do “more of the same”.
But I had quite some hours of fun with it.
Never tried the DLCs though. They might add more stuff to do.
I’ve never gotten into city-builder games, but I’ve always loved the idea of colonizing Mars. I think my bestie will like this. City builders are his Cups o’ Joe.

Just did my first raid in ARC Raiders.
Very Atmospheric and immersive. Nice.
Compared to Tarkov it‘s modern, sci-fi, more accessible, less complex. But most important it seems done and performs well.
Didn‘t have any PvP yet, but the suspense is there. This ain‘t no walk in the park.

Strike Fighters 2 (I haven’t played it in a long time though honestly)
I tend to play Arma 3 more and more, and generate videos and stuff, but overall that’s like my main game so far.

…Aaaaand I’m done.
Been a while since I completely 100%ed a game. But this one is done. Took it from 0 to almost 5K people, all of them martians. Only lost about five or six people to anything but old age. People all are happy and mostly productive, so the cops are just for show. Over the course of the game I had only two people go bad, and four go insane.
