I can see the airline hiring board now…

ā€œWell…we see here that you have 1700 hours total time and 150 multi. That is well short of our minimum requirements as you are probably aware.ā€

ā€œI am, sir. But YOU should be aware that I have 1.1M social media followers.ā€

ā€œWelcome to [Insert Major Airline here]!ā€

That was a pretty fun watch. I’m always amazed people aren’t more careful around towing lines, cables, and straps though… I mean…always assume they are going to fail. That dude walking around behind the Jeep while it was under the load was a terrible idea.

Judging from the left rear marker light on (and right off) and the horn constantly blowing, their electrical system will be screwed for the foreseeable future HA HA HA!

This one definitely made me laugh out loud. They’re going to need a bigger Jeep.

Jeeps can go off-road, but that’s WAYY off road. I think the electrical system is toast, esp with sea water.

Ya, I’ve never liked Jeeps because the cabin looks a bit cramped for my 6’3" 260lbs.

I’ve had my eye on the Gladiator though …

Yeah…that is probably salt water or brackish water too… ugh…

Yeah…that one has a certain utilitarian appeal to it… Our director of aviation has one and it is really nice. Can’t go rolling up to the employee lot in the same vehicle the boss drives though…

I’d probably go with a front and rear winch system if I’m feeling sporty as well.

I can’t find the article so I will paraphrase. My area of NJ got pretty well soaked by Irma. A bunch of cars found themselves suddenly submerged and swept away and tragically a dozen or so motorists drowned. This one guy was trapped when his vehicle quit in rising water. A local contractor stopped and pulled him out. The savior then went BACK to the vehicle and retrieved the guy’s two laptops. THEN he drives him to his shop and lets the guy crash there for the night. When a reporter later asked the contractor what he thought of being called a ā€œheroā€ he said, ā€œI’m no hero. My JEEP is the hero!ā€

I’m still dipping in occasionally to see how the boaters of Miami are faring.

This one is a bit baffling. Also, if I was called over to help some stranded boaters, I would be losing it if they weren’t helping and taking selfies and photos instead.

I’m watching Marvel’s The Punisher with John Bernthal and Daredevil…
Absolutely brilliant stuff.
They readjusted smartly the original stories.

I was paddling my kayak on a river frequented by jetskiers years ago and one went past me flat out, curved around to follow the river cutting close to a headland called Bald Face which gets shallow and has lots of rocks just below the surface, when ā€˜bang’ - he hit a rock just off Bald Face.

I’m slowly getting closer and watching first the bloke in the water next to his jetski, then the jetski starts tilting stern down, the seat pops off and floats, and the ski completely sinks like the Titanic. Must have ripped its bottom right out.

By the time I got up close, and a powerboat was assisting the bloke, I heard him say ā€œit’s my mate’s jetskiā€. Ouch, friendship stress. I took some photos (I wish I could find them now) and paddled on happily.

This is just one of the reasons I’m not a fan of jetskiers. Deliberately destroying an Osprey nest on the Georges River a few years back.

Surprised you didn’t get dumped out of your kayak when he went by! :open_mouth:

I fixed it for you, I agree they suck. :upside_down_face:

I like to ride a jetski every now and then, and would never dream of doing something like the above. I’m also conscientious about my wake, rather I’m on a seadoo or a boat. Unfortunately our society doesn’t seem to value things like politeness, conscientiousness, or personal responsibility anymore. :pensive:

When I was a fishing guide a few years ago, one of my guide buds remarked, concerning jet ski’s, ā€œthey don’t do anythingā€ [except run around, back-n-forth, then leave]. I saw his point. I personally don’t think about them at all, though they are rare on the water around here.

I’m just gonna say, make sure you watch She-Hulk next.
