I was wondering why my HTS wasn’t finding the threats I put out in the range for me to cut my teeth on. So I dove into some research. First off, it’s looking for everything by default. This makes it slow. Here’s a table I copied from a GR vid that lays out the THREAT page for the HTS. The different things are grouped, and you can turn groups on or off. Turning off those groups you will not be encountering will make the thing find things faster. Makes sense, no?

Tables out of the way, there’s also a little tactical consideration. Like the Air to Ground RADAR, the passive HTS likes to get some shift going on its target. So if you fly directly at it, it will have a hard time figuring it out. However, if you drive on a course with a good offset, say 60 degrees or so, it will be far quicker in resolving the location of an emitter.
Do I need to type out how to make an emitter SPI for your TPOD, JDAM’s or HARMS or did @wagmatt explain that sufficiently?
