This man gets it. But viggen before all that cause hërk a börkka börk
Thank you! Home from work today trying to get better
Ronald Jenkees is the artist from the opening video.
Thanks and much appreciated. FWIW, we’ve had a nasty bout of bronchitis going around Atlanta, and apparently Charlotte, as reported by @BeachAV8R. The good thing is that it only lasts for 2 to 3 months, so you’ll be back in the cockpit in no time
Very much enjoyed the mission stream.
Yeah the mission stream was enjoyable despite the buffering. A good look into some of what the viggen can do. Present impressions seem to suggest it was worth the pre order.
Blame E-League CounterStrike Tournament for that.
While we appreciated the anti-ship demo. Mudspike TS was adament that mission 2 should have been a tree-top level alpha-strike on said Tournament.
Made me laugh though…!
We didnt have any buffering when E-League was between rounds and their viewers dropped by 80%.
When the next round started and their viewers spiked, we had buffering issues again.
MBot discussing his plans to build a dynamic campaign for the Viggen.
ohh boy ohh boy !!!
Does anyone know if the viggen will be released for Nevada and the Caucasus at the same time?
1.5.6 so Caucasus
Oh and check out this video:

EDIT: Oh and Open Beta right now (you can use the DCS Updater to switch between 1.5.5 release and .1.5.6 open beta): https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=181433
Cheers! Was hopeing to break it in in Nevada
Viggens with a desert splinter paint job…
So, Friday’s release is only for those running the open beta 1.5.6. Hmmm. Not sure how I feel about that. My irrational heart says install yet a third version of DCS World and with that the Viggen module only, but my rational brain says hold on there cowboy. Perhaps if you are patient and wait for the stable release version, that LNS will squash a few more bugs.
…back to F-5E studies for a bit longer.
Why does it need another client? DCS has always had the option to switch 1.5.x between release and open branches. Is this a special viggeny build that requires a new client?
I fail to understand the drama brewing up over this on the ED Boards.
EDIT: That wasn’t directed at you Chipwich. There is a thread on the ED forums that is acting as if the sky is falling and the dead are rising and I simply don’t get it.
It is a safe bet that the initial release will have bugs. Hopefully they’re not game crashing, gameplay killing bugs, but the “pre-release” tag will definitely apply. Caveat emptor and all that, but I’ve been pretty satisfied with the pre-pre-release version I have, and what @Troll, @BeachAV8R, and I have shared in our various posts about our impressions and experiences.
There are bugs and missing features that would greatly annoy me if this was a finished product, but all indications are that LNS is planning on continuing development of the module to a proper release state, as they have with the MiG-21bis, so I’m still confident my pre-purchase will be justified.
That said, I won’t fault anyone who wants to wait until the module has some maturity on it.
The Open Beta dependency is interesting - I wonder what feature they’re adding to DCS that wasn’t available in the release? And how long it’ll require Open Beta? I did ask indirectly about the Nevada integration during the stream and LNS indicated its in the plan, but I got the sense that’s a ways out still. Perhaps @nicholas.dackard can comment?
As a note, you can install a separate install of DCS OpenBeta with its separate control input files and settings and whatnot OR you can use dcs_updater to update your stable version to the OpenBeta. It’s similar to downloading a major patch or update, so you’re not going through a separate install, but I can see why people would want to avoid that as well.
