HGU-33/P restoration project

You should make it so you can attach a :mask: where the O2 mask goes…wouldn’t want to catch COVID-19. :grimacing:

One layer of sprayfiller, sanded down.

Dude! Why don’t you just as your self-aware 3D printer to just make you one? :robot:

I did… He told me I ain’t the boss of him and that I should just shut up and leave him alone. So I did.
Funny, I can’t remember a rudeness setting in the menu…?

So, while I was spraying filler and sanding, I noticed that I filled more and more cracks in the visor cover… The plastic in the cover seem to be reacting to the solvents of the filler.

Got another brand of spray filler and all was good.

Yo man that it´s looking great, i was wondering if you 3d printed the visor cover, because i am restoring one here in Argentina and i can´t find it anywhere. And if you didn´t print it, where did you get it? thanks for your time man!.

Hi there and welcome to Mudspike! :mudspike:

I got my parts from a guy who had started a renovation project that he didn’t have time to finish.

Flighthelmet.com has some used and damaged parts.

Gibson&Barnes has new parts, but those will be expensive.

You can also check the Flight gear collectors Facebook group. Lots of helmet renovations going on there.

Good luck with your project!
