Wait what?
@PaulRix presents Machynlleth simulations.
Born of a dream. A cold, wet and more than likely cloudy dream.
lol hilarious. love it!
Edit: I’m going to use this line the next time one of my kids annoy me. ‘I liked you better when you were an unfertilized egg.’ My kids are grown and understand my weird sense of humor so no harm done ![]()
A couple more baby steps. I found a nice metalic texture that looks like a good match for the Lightning. I cleaned up the UV mapping a little but there is still some stretching at the nose. I also sunk the cockpit floor although that will need a lot more work to look acceptable.
Panel lines will be the next challenge…
Of all the airplanes ever made, perhaps besides the F104, this is the one I give away the Pitts to fly. Simply lovely. Don’t quit!
I’ll keep plugging away. It’s surprisingly relaxing work on.
Rudimentary panel lines. They are pretty ugly, especially the wings. I’m thinking I need to give the wing UV Map a little more scale. That’s enough for today though. ![]()
Edit> I couldn’t leave it alone…
I’m learning that the texturing tools within Blender are a bit limited in that there doesn’t seem to be a layers function. I’m guessing I should use Blender to draw panel lines onto a blank texture, and take that to use as a layer within something like Photoshop or GIMP.
good progress there.
iirc different apps to Blender are used for texturing work. didnt get that far myself.
I did a bit of texture work with Armor Paint, but in the end I noticed that almost all the things I did were also available in Blender.
How go the Blender wars @PaulRix?
Wheels
It’s been going slowly… I was on the road a lot during the past month plus I got distracted with getting my astro-imaging rig back online along with starting to learn how to use my new camera etc etc.
So, basically the Lightning is in the same state as it was before.
I did learn how to add a nice backdrop for display purposes.
I’ll get back to it soon though.
