Except the Skyhawk had the tail in the rear instead of the front.
The Tejas has been suffering from being underpowered, but I think they’re switching to the Super Hornet’s F414 for the Mk2? Seemed a great plane aside from that issue, which naturally made a carrier version impossible, so hopefully the new engine will make it successful.

Funny, I really want to pronounce it “TAY-haas”, as it has the same proper spelling as the territory the US took from Mexico nearly 200 years ago.
