Hopefully they have a different marketing approach than RAZBAM because GS flew the Strike Eagle in May!
I picked this up as it’s on sale. I have had it in MSFS 2020 since it’s release there. The DCS version is really rather nice. The cockpit is well done. It is quite easy to start up and has a pretty decent amount of ordnance options. No countermeasures of course. I read it is getting air to air missiles which is a bit of a stretch I think for the A version but hey ho.
They finally gave in and add an A2A missile? For a long time they had fought the communities complaints that the C-101 had one.
My only grip about the MB-339 right now, is that they deleted all the weapons depression settings in the kneeboard when they redid the reticle adjustments. I just need to sit down and do some testing to get my own I suppose.
I think it’s the nicest of the trainers in DCS if you take it out of any other context, but of course the C-101 has the advantage of there being an F-5E and an F-18 in the sim to do the proper trainer → lead-in fighter → operational fighter progression (I suppose you could argue the same with the L-39, but the lack of modern Hi-Fi red modules hurts that a bit).
The real problem I have with the trainers is the cost. That VNAO T-45 is still going strong when I need to show someone what an approach is meant to look like…
