Intel 10700K, Corsair Spec-Delta Build

Hey Guys,

I was wanting to build a new 11 series PC but I am just going to go with a 10 Seris CPU the 10700K… I am expecting the CPU, Noctua Heatsink and AsRock Z590 Phantom II MotherBoard this Friday 3-19-2021

The Case has already been prepped with the Installation of the Corsair TX850M PSU and I took out the HDD Case as I am only going to install 1 SSD which there is a spot for 2 SSD on the inside back of the motherboard in the case…

here is the Full Parts List:

  1. Intel 10700K CPU
  2. ASRock Z590 Phantom II Gaming Motherboard.
  3. G.Skill 32GB 3200Mhz RAM DDR4.
  4. Noctua NH-U14S Heatsink single 140MM Fan.
  5. Asus 1080 GTX.
  6. Corsair Spec-Delta case…

EDIT: All my other PC Parts are to be on my doorstep tomorrow before 9PM. I can hardly wait… I must be patient with the build as always… but I can’t wait until first power and to see how Noctuas Heatsinks really perform… I have bought 2 Coolermaster 212 Heatsinks in the past and they where always decent… I have heard very good things about Noctua.

here are a few pics of the build. I will add more when I get the rest of the parts…

Pics of these when built up please!

Hey fearlessfrog,

I built the system and was going to take some pictures but I ruined my flash drive for the camera, I need to goto the store tomorrow and pick a few up… Plus my new case does not have a drive bay for me to put the card reader in my new case Arghhh!!

I am going to see if any stores like Staples or similar have one that is USB external kind…

It came out really nice the Noctua Heatsink and fan are monsterous… it is keeping it around 12-15c at idle. the Coolermaster 212 Evo was only able to keep the 9700K at about 24-26c so a Big improvement @ idle temps.

I still need to get some Stress tests run to be sure my system is stable @ 4.8GHZ, I seen some say I may be able to get 5.2GHZ on air??

So the other thing was I noticed how snappy and quick my Programs got installed when redoing the Programs and such… This chip is really nice. maybe it is the ASRock BIOS but it really boots faster then my 9700K MSI Board…

Besides the case not having bays for the DVD Roms and such it is really a nice case… I will make do but I need to maybe get another case or something for my DVD Rom and Card reader…

I will try and get the pictures up tomorrow …

Well I found a few things out here… I ordered the m2 4x4 SSD but found out it only runs at that speed with the 11 series CPU’s :frowning:
The other thing I found out if you want to get a 11900K vs the 11700K just go with the 11700K, if you compare the specs the only 2 things different is the max clock speed of the 11900K which is 5.3 vs the 11700K 5.0 and the Price way more money for the 11900K…

To sum up just not worth the premium as I thought the i9 11900k was a 10 core it is not or at least the CPU I saw on neweg.

So now I have to decide if I am going to get a 11700K for the fasteer speed on the M2 drive…

I don’t think it is worth it. Even with PCIe3, NVMe drives are incredibly fast. I doubt you will feel much of a difference. And for gaming the 11700k doesn’t compare that well to the 10700k.

Hey I have a question about the M2 drives. does it matter which slot I use for the Windows boot drive… On my board I have 3 slots for M2.

I looked in the manual and google but there does not seem to be a definitive answer on where to put the m2 Boot drive if it even matters or not?

I currently have it in slot 3 at the bottom and it seems to be working but what I am wondering if this is optimal?

Please keep us updated as I will have questions. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Well from what the manual says I can only use the very top slot with a 11th series CPU. the 2nd and 3rd slot are ok and it appears I can use either of those 2 slots…

the top slot is Ultra slot for M2 PCIe 4x4. the 2nd and 3rd are for PCIe 3x4… So I am good where I have it set in the 3rd slot…

If you have any question fire them off so far so good but the newer extras they added like RGB Lighting is pretty cool… I just have the 3 fans in the case set to red like my mouse and keyboard looks like a matching set…

Busy Googling and scheming.
So you did go 11700?

Please do not take my questions as derogatory.
I like your case as I’m a somewhat of a Corsair fan.
The 750D struck me as it is roomier and has Optical drive trays (yes ?)lol
It is x2 the cost!
Memory is there a reason you did not go higher than 3200mgz?
With a larger case would I gain with a NH-15S ??

  1. I went with the 10700K the 11 series it not out until 3-30-2021

  2. well the case I bought was 30USD OFF so I spent 50USD on the case. money towards better pc Parts. it is roomy enough for a mid tower real open inside… good airflow… at the time I did not notice it did not have room for optical bays…

  3. well one night my friend and I where discussing memory speeds and I think it went according to bus speed of the CPU or something where the faster memory speed does not matter. and 3200 was the sweetspot… I also went with a lower CAS Latency 14 which is important too.

  4. well this Noctua is a 140mm does the 15 have dual fans?? as mine is only a single fan but it does keep it real cool. @ 5.0GHZ Idle the temp is about29-33c and during a stress test it did not go over 80C. I did put it in and the fan being on the right side of the fan hangs over the memory so if you put in 4 sticks you would need to take the fan off to be able to take the memory out… Dual fans would be good. I just figured one fan and keeping cost down a bit…

Well I spent most of the day OverClocking the GPU and memory… I was able to get the GPU to +550Mhz memory and +150mhz Core Stable…

I just got done OC the memory which is @ 4600mhz – 1.410v… I still need to stress test to see if the memory is stable at this speed I am at least booted up. but once I put some stress to the memory it will reveal if it is stable or not real quick…

My OC on the CPU is @ 5.0ghz – 1.310v so far it has been stable… I am trying to determine the best Stress test for the memory?

Once I get my G2 Back in order this pc should be handling DCS and the new clouds really good. Well once 2.7 drops but my headset cable is still backordered and I waited near a month almost… they did say it was backordered by 2 months I hope I will not have to wait much longer…

Well I bought a new case to put my last PC in a new case and disgustingly found out the case is ARGB ONLY but the motherboard I was putting in was RGB ONLY :frowning: the difference is the ARGB (Adressable) is only 5 volt and has 3 wires.

the RGB is 12volt and uses 4 wires… they are not interchangeable as they are the plugs for the power for the lights but each has different volts and if you plug in the wrong way or into the wrong slot you can damage the lights on the fans…

So after finding this out 3am I decided to keep the Lian lu case and sell my Spec delta case with the 9700K… Well I just wrapped up and voila 2 working PC’s… I am going to get a nVidia 970GTX vid card for the one I am selling and put in local marketplace and see I can get a buyer…

So here are the pics of the new case with the i7 10700K CPU and Z590 Motherboard…

I had seen a mod where they put a 5"-7" screen in the pc case and use a monitor tool to show the CPU Usage and such and while it looked cool IMHO thinks it is not too functional and not worth the time and money I put into it…

I just velcroed it in there and from my vantage point it is hard to see the screen. I could move it outisde the case and mount it on my desk or something but really I use VR so it is kinda pointless I just thought it was a good idea and turned out it looks cool but that is about it…

I would not reccomend this mod… there are a few videos of modders doing this…
