Fascinating. So many projects in that era were amazing just for their audacity. And they found people to get inside those contraptions and test them out…

Yes. Nobody knew any better in the beginning. Just looked like fun. Then add some, ‘Hold my beer and watch this’ and things get interesting. My granddad was a true ‘barnstormer’ and some of the stuff he did (1920’s & 30’s) would be highly illegal now. The casualty rate was up there.
