Interim KMAS-Mudspike Server up

While we thresh out the next Foothold campaign..there is a temporary mission set up on the server. Just a simple (looking) NTTR mission with many of the available units. Probably not some of the mod aircraft because I just downloaded this and set it on the server. If anyone want to modify the mission template to add things and shoot it to me, I’ll be happy to run it. This is just a temporary place to get together and fly and keep the connectivity going. I don’t think there are any scripts or anything exotic about this mission. I tried running some of the other offered NTTR missions on the DCS User files and none of them seemed to offer as many platforms as this one.

Server Name: KMAS-Mudspike

Thanks. Need to jump on and test the DAP after a reinstall.

I don’t know if the DAP will be included in that mission. I just downloaded it and put it up..didn’t modify it at all..

Cool, going to jump online and check it out tonight. Unarmed drones are my spirit animal.

No worries. Can check it when the new campaign is up.

If anyone would like to practice buddy lasing (with bombs, APKWS, Hellfires, laser mavs, cats, really anything that will follow a laser), as either shooter or spotter let me know. Be happy to fly with you.

Had a fun hour or so on there. Just shooting at things that didn’t shoot back was kind of fun.. Most of my time was spent mapping the controls of the Ka-50 III since I only had the original Ka-50 mapped in Syria…

Flying off @chipwich ‘s wing while @fearlessfrog was acting as a Forward Air Instructor..

I just saw @chipwich drop off so I restarted the server to re-populate the target range.

It’s a really nice training sandpit (literally). Plus NTTR is a really nice looking map with great performance. It was quite relaxing to play on as well.

Had a quick check-in this morning, probably quite a nice mission to play with a bit more! NTTR had a bit of issue loading for some reason on my end. Need to check out what is up with that.

Putting a different NTTR mission on that should allow for more variety and practice opportunities. Let me know what you think.

**DESIGN NOTES**
This is a sandbox-style training mission designed for both solo and multiplayer with hot starts, easy comms, and targets spawned via Comms F10. It is part of a progressive training series that begins with Nevada – NTTR Training Operations, continues with Marianas – Naval Operations, and concludes with Persian Gulf - Operation Hammer. Missions avoid external scripting to reduce risk of updates breaking functionality. No mods or asset packs are utilized to increase compatibility.

I like this trainer. I’ve been using it to practice the Fulcrum BVR capability which is only slightly better than the MiG-21/F-4. Even with the bad guys set at ace guns only, It’s been a good challenge. The short legs of the fulcrum make it more so. I want to check out the helicopter loading and LZ practice next.

I restarted at around 1000 EST / 1400 UTC…

I plan on sitting down with the next Foothold mission tonight and working on configuration.

Give the built in date restriction of the DCS editor a go, see how that goes..

I have some doubts the mods will survive that.
