IMO it’s human nature. Except now we have an instant, world-wide, communications channel. The ‘general public’ hasn’t had time to adapt to this. The down side to it that is.
There is an upside too - when I was thirty-something the idea of having a fruitful exchange with you (or anyone here), from wherever on Earth you are, would have been near unimaginable.
