Logitech (Saitek) Flight Multi Panel

One of the things I find kind of fiddley in X-Plane is operating the Autopilot with the mouse. In a real airplane it is pretty easy when it comes to selecting modes, headings and altitudes etc.

So my wife bought me a nice little anniversary present (I told her after I ordered it  ).

Pretty nice! The only negative I can think of is that you have to select the mode (Alt/VS/IAS/HDG/CRS) before dialing in your desired value. Not a big deal though. It would have been nice if the pitch trim wheel could have been made to operate like the pitch wheel on most autopilot panels as well, but I guess a proper trim wheel is a good thing to have.
Oh, and you have to do a quick registry tweak to get the display working. Overall though, this is a nice piece of kit.

Nice.

I like that trim wheel a lot, actually! Iโ€™ve been looking for a simple trim wheel for my GA practice stuff.

Saitek produced a dedicated trim wheel under its Cessna product line before it closed its doors. The price has gone up significantly because they are hard to find. Was a worthwhile purchase when I got mine. Using the trim hat on my stick never gave me the precision I needed for GA aircraft. The trim wheel worked flawlessly. Maybe if you look hard enough, you might be able to find one under $100.

@PaulRix There are some 3rd-party drivers (canโ€™t remember where) that expands the capabilities of the the Saitek panels. I remember reading about them when I was considering getting a set of panels.
