Took it for a spin, honestly the first time I’ve ever used the MP menu in DCS. Got a disconnect after maybe 20 minutes, but everything was running good till then.
Thanks Paul, but actually, what was good in free flight, didn’t quite work well operationally. So, I went back to the drawing board and built another preset, which is working much better. I uploaded it to the Moza Discord preset sharing section last night. A lot less tension.
I’ll give it a try!
Can you please tell me how dfo I get to it?
It’s here, but I’m probably going to update it Friday based on some feedback on the Moza Discord.
You guys are a Wealth of great info…When I finally switch my gaming rig from Lemans Ultimate back to DCS I’ll be sure to review these posts.
Has anyone had the homing give them wrong directions? The first time I used it, offline, it worked fine. Second time I tried it, online, it kept telling me I was in sector Uniform when I was actually in sector Hotel.
The recoil from the .50 cals seems excessive as well. Firing the guns whips the nose all over the place.
I am looking forward to trying the beacon. That, plus the glide bomb plus the carrier catapult system (not modeled) are three things I was ignorant of until recently. I have a new appreciation for the technical aptitude of late-war industry.
The guns aren’t kicking on my end. I am exactly as accurate (rather inaccurate) with the Corsair as I am with the P-47.
I noticed that too.
I tested for a few hours this morning and made quite a few changes to my AB9 preset. The FFB telemetry is fairly weak on this module. You get stall buffeting, gun recoil, gear, flap, and some engine effect, but the airplane still doesn’t feel as alive as it should with FFB, IMHO.
Otherwise, I’m pretty happy with this preset. I tried all 3 modes, with/without DCS curves, a bunch of different settings and curves. This is where I landed.
For me it was a technique issue. With as sensitive as it is on the controls, I was over squeezing my trigger and moving my whole hand. I changed the guns to the first stage, and made a point of having a good trigger pull, and zero issues after that.
I’ve got them on the first detent as well, rudder control on the pedals so no stick issue. It’s rock steady on the dive then when the guns start firing the nose whips left/right in sync with the gunfire.
I hope this is still news as I post it. Apparently there is a development. Some have found that the full RPM cannot be achieved with key binds. If you max out prop pitch then grab the RPM level with the Mouse, you can push the engine to destruction. However, running it at 3250RPM for a few minutes will give you quite a boost. I’ll try when I get home…
I had seen that. Apparently however the manuals have a max RPM for WEP as 2700. So it appears to be bug to allow them to be oversped that much.
Yeah that’s not an issue with not being able to reach max RPM, because max (normal) RPM for the Double Wasp is 2700. There’s allowance for overspeeding to 3050 in dives I think, but someone will have to fact-check me on that. Should be the same in the P-47. It’s more an issue of being able to select RPM beyond the limits that we should, combined with having to exploit that bug in order to achieve published level-flight top speeds.
Anyway, back to boat flying, my speed and altitude management has gotten better but achieving that 3-point attitude is something I just can’t get. I always 2-point and either bounce high enough to trade glances with the admiral on the bridge, or drag my butt across the deck until the hook catches something.
No key binds necessary. Just use your mouse to drag the prop lever lower, which flattens the prop. But they are sure to fix that in an update, so I haven’t been doing it.
Im not bothering with it as its just a cheat.
