First episode down

I like it!
It has got that Memphis Belle feel.
CGI is great, but I expected no less.

I need MicroProse to get me that Mighty Eight VR sim NOW, GoshDarnedIt!

Same here! Was worried the CGI might be distracting but it was good enough (for me at least) to suspend disbelief and just enjoy the show without constantly noticing it.

Also felt they good a job with the exposition, I mean they have to explain things to a broader audience but it wasn’t particularly heavy handed. Looking forward to the next one.

I enjoyed it. A very promising start to the series and I expect it will only get better the more we get to know the crews. The CGI was pretty good actually, better than I was expecting.

It’s like someone took the 5 minutes of good story and footage from Pearl Harbor, and combined it with Tuskegee Airmen, Red Tails and Midway and used better cameras and acting.

I enjoyed the first two episodes. One thing that jumped out to me
I was under the impression that B17 pilots at the time all wore their peaked hats with a set of headphones. Some of the characters are shown as such, but other characters are shown wearing a leather flying cap/helmet with goggles
was this optional to the crews?

I am looking forward to the next episode.

I guess so. Must’ve been cold using just the hat, at 30.000ft.

Most definitely. I would have chosen the flying cap too.

I am enjoying it as well. Good balance between character development and action.

Probably worth a subscription if you don’t have access to an account, especially if you haven’t used your free one month trial yet?

While I enjoyed the first two episodes I found the inaccuracy of the bike race utterly intolerable. According to the diary of Maj. Marvin Bowman the 100th often held bike races around the perimeter of the base, not in a building as depicted in episode two.

Thanks Troll I enjoyed that.

I think the Officers Peak cap was a product of “Here comes a camera”. During real missions i believe the crews were in leather helmets, scarves and as much cowhide as you could muster. In the Pacific
they wore Sneakers, shorts and t shirts. At 25k its way below 0. I doubt Anyone wore a Crush Cap like in the movies. And dont even get me started about where to put the O2 mask

My uncle told me that he used to place a second flak jacket in the lower part of the nose plexiglass. He was a togller and also operated the chin turret on the G. He also said that it was a court marshal offense due to weight concerns, but that most other crew members ignored it, everyone doing what they could to stay alive.

The pictures from Sweeting’s “Combat Flying Clothing” shows the bomber pilots in helmets and masks just like the rest of the crews.

I like the fact the actors actually look the ages they would’ve been in real life. It’s a breath of fresh air from all the recent movies and shows full of 40 year olds playing young enlisted.

Definitely looking forward to Friday!
