Me-262 like flying a Roman Candle

Seems like if you look at them the wrong way they burst into fire!

Well, they were not supposed to get shot. At times they would produce a pretty catastrophic explosion.

If only we saw things like that in IL-2 and DCS!

Actually, I’ve seen this happen in IL-2 with random planes.

really? against what airframes and with what ammunition?

at 4:00 minutes of my vid you can see something like that

Yup seen some messers blow up like that. It’s a great feeling flying through the explosion.

Funnily I remember that CFS2 or even CFS1 had such explosions, usually when you had a plane in front of you that had already damaged fuel tanks, you could then ignite the fuel with your tracers. It looked pretty cool.

I think the probability for exploding aircraft have increased with the latest damage model update.
I was shooting at a Camel with my Albatross when it suddenly blew up right in front of me! An impressive sight in VR and totally unexpected…!

I guess that FW-190 had its fuel tank burst. The vid should start at 4:24.

And as Aginor pointed out, he was leaking fuel before final blow.

First time I saw it I was in a Me-262 and it was a Spitfire that blew up. Subsequently, it happened again in a P-38 vs Bf-109.
