Merry Christmas to all my Mudspike friends, I wanted to get that said before everyone (including me) takes some time out to be with family and friends… Which is what it is all about IMHO.
Thank you all for your friendship, support and wisdom. You have definitely helped make what has, if I am going to be honest, a dismal 2025 bearable.
And on that note I have one parting wish.
Charity is not a dirty word. If you are struggling there is no shame in accepting it. If, like me you are doing OK, there is no excuse for not providing it. Please be generous this holiday season.
At 15:30 I told my mate to start clearing out. I went on finishing the work. At 16:00 he went off to do his thing. At 17:00 as it started to get dark, I was busy clearing scraps and gathering tools.
I got a message: where are you aren’t you supposed yo be at school this evening? I messaged the christmas commission ladies about the situation and they were surprisingly chill about it. Messaged my boy to gather up the santa suit and take it to the headmasters office of the school. It was dark as I roped the last of the wood onto the bus and hauled the combination away from the client. The trailer was seriously overweight for my poor old van.
I got to the school, changed into the santa suit. 3 minutes per class! Okie-dokie I got this. I santa’d the sheet out of that sheet! Of course they all yell I’m a fake santa. I gently box them and ask if that feels real
Funniest interaction was a kid who yelled I wasn’t Santa because I wasn’t fat enough! Haha all year I get crap for being too big bellied and that one day in the year I’m too bloody thin!
I remember when I first joined here I would only stick my head in occasionally to look for DCS News that couldn’t be found or Discussed in the DCS Forums.
But now this place feels more like home to me than any other forum community I visit…and It’s all because of the Amazing People here.
It’s great that we all have DCS as a common bond…but this community is so much more…All the great content in the ”Where Are You Photos” thread..
I love seeing pictures of all your kids (and in some cases your kids..kids😄)The projects your doing,your Work and Hobbies.

I am collapsed on a sofa after a day long trip to Austrian alps for some snow fun. The kids first revolted when they learnt they would not have got their usual 24th propper, but forgot as soon as they saw the white peaks on the horizon.
Mudspike is a great place. The community is geat. You are great!
Merry Christmas, Mudspike! It has been a busy year for my family and I’ve been a bit absent from here, but it has been really nice to jump back in and read up on how everyone is doing. It’s very special to have such a great longstanding group of people connecting over a common interest/passion in a friendly and supportive way.
