And if you do get it, will it be the Quest standalone or the PC/PSVR version?

I’ll probably buy it as I’m a VR FPS junkie right now.
Definitely PCVR instead of standalone, although if it ends up on the Meta store you should get access to both versions which is nice.
One problem: It needs to have arms. Not having arms in 2024 is pretty immersion breaking.
That would be nice but I bet it doesn’t Happen
I’m facing a real issue.
I love VR, but I absolutely loathe being scared by games.
I love Half Life, but I literally cannot proceed in Alyx.
I’m starting to think VR is not for me… but in Elite Dangerous, OMFG…
And DCS…
and in Job Simulator…
I love flatscreen horror games (Alien Isolation, Dark Descent… I still have to play through Soma)… but I haven’t tried horror in VR!
Love VR for vehicle sims, of course… but I kinda like flatscreen more for shooters and horror games fit in the “shooter” part of my brain for whatever reason?
Yeah that I really like and I can bear with it.
I don’t know why but I initially read this as being part of the Metroid Prime series and wondered how the morph ball mechanic would work in VR.
TL:DR. Alien Isolation + VR. Nope, just nope.
My wife is not a horror fan per-se but is a huge fan of the Alien Franchise (she is probably one of the few people in the world who liked Alien Resurrection).
It can’t have been long after I got my G2 that she made a comment along the lines of ‘wouldn’t it be cool if there was an Alien game in VR’.
A quick search revealed that there was a free VR mod for Alien Isolation and that it worked quite well. I had no real intention of playing it, but it was on me to get it set up and make sure it was running properly. I think I lasted about 5 minutes before I pissed my pants… almost literally!
I’m pretty sure that the first squeal or genuine terror from the bride came at about the same time and neither of us have touched it since.
This is one of the best experiences I’ve ever played in gaming
Walkabout mini golf ….one of the most chill and fun vr games I have played in a while but can lead to some hair pulling moments it’s especially fun in multiplayer
F.E.A.R. had me physically peeking around corners and VR is immersive. I recall a few jump scares in the Metro series. Soooooooooo… I will pass on this one.
